Hitler famously wanted to first register guns and then grab them.

Even our women & children, were well versed in marksmanship..
actually there were plans in germany in 1901 to invade the US, right in the middle fo the spanish/american war. germany was going to invade the northeast US, and hold it hostage to force the US government to give up our interests in the pacific so that germany could become a world power.

things got in the way of their plans though and they never came to fruition.

why is it that the gun grabbers arguments get more and more stupid when people talk about the average citizen defending US soil? it isnt about the missiles, aircraft, etc. that the possible invader has on hand, its about killing the foot soldier coming onto the beach or invading the cities.

anyone remember what happened to the germans in world war two in stalingrad? the russians were essentially beat, stalingrad was fast becoming a pile of rubble, and YET the german armies were held to a stand still DESPITE the tanks and heavy artillery. why? because of soviet snipers popping up and taking out german soldiers in fairly large quantities. one fo the most prolific soviet snipers was a woman with 320 official kills. now add to that effort another 100,000 snipers, and you can see what kind of devastation to the german armies had to deal with.

You can disagree but that doesn't make it untrue. What kind of facts do you need?

How many people have been killed over the last thousand years because of religion/ideology in written texts and spoken that continues to this day? When an ISIS member kills someone with a gun, knife or throws them off a building ultimately it's not the gun, knife or building that killed that person. It's the words that person has heard and read.

Anywhere you look throughout history where tyrannical governments have ruled one common denominator is confiscation of weapons.

And let's be frank... conservatives wouldn't even be able to muster a quorum for anything if it were not for fearmongering. It's a way of life. Everything's part of the conspiracy!

Turns out for the Koch brothers that keeping simple people scared is really good politics and good business.
You obviously have an irrational fear of the Koch brothers and you are attempting to scare people with your fear mongering.

Exactly. It's exactly the reason that we need the 2nd Amendment. The idiocy of the left continues.

Gun grabbers always point to individuals owning military grade weapons and saying why would people be allowed to do so. George Washington was a big proponent of the 2nd Amendment and public ownership of weapons to protect against the government. His army for the most part used weapons owned by the people, including rifles, as opposed to muskets exclusively used by the British. The American troops would use the riflemen as snipers to take out officers and senior noncoms, leaving the troops without command and control. The British objected saying that the use of rifles was unfair as they didn't have them.

So the idea of Americans owning military grade hardware actually traces all the way back to the beginnings of our country with American individuals having access to superior grade weaponry vs the government.

Had the same conversation with a Chicago detective yesterday, who feels the same way and is pro 2A. He says that the cat is out of the bag. Too many guns on the street. He works out of Austin district which is hell on earth. He stated that literally everyone is armed (illegally of course). Disarming law abiding citizens would only make them easier prey. Answer is stiffer jail time for illegal gun offenders.

Why doesn't this poor man deserve the right to defend his home against savages who are already armed to the teeth?
