Who is going to take on Putin? He invaded Georgia, one of our Iraqi coaltion partners, and BushII and the world did nothing. He invades Ukraine, Obama and the world does nothing. He moves to aid Assad, and the world does nothing. At what point do we engage the Russians and stop their violent incursions.

Why should we?
Ok Turkey downed a Russian jet for violating airspace. Just because you can do a thing doesn't make it right to do the thing.
Assad and Syria are allies of Russia. Of course Russia will take sides. No different than how we always side with Israel.
We have a chance to all work together to get rid of ISIS. That is we stop worrying who is Pi$$ing on our trees.
Turks want Assad out, too. So the US and Turkey will be flying missions in Syria and Iraq attacking ISIS, and in support of the rebels, while the Russians are conducting missions to kill the rebels. How long before the Russians start shooting down American planes?
As soon as Assad says they are no longer welcome in Syrian territory and Russia starts enforcing a no fly zone.
The CIA has been arming ISIL and the rebels since 2011, we are letting ISIL help get rid of Assad. The assumption is that once Assad is gone that the Iranian, the Iraqis and the US would then take care of ISIL. Putin kinda messed that all up.
The CIA, the USA and Israel "messed that up" when ISIS began executing Christians and other minorities by decapitation and crucifixion, and they continued to do nothing and worse in lying that they were doing something. Oh, and then millions of displaced refugees started flooding the West.

Putin is only attacking the ISIL factions that are engaged with the Syrian army, the factions that the Turk and the US are aligned with and helping. Putin is not trying to defeat ISIL, only to support Assad. I think the US and Russian forces will start shooting at each other in the very near future.
Nobody is worried about a few civilians dying, we send troops to overthrow governments not stop random violence.
NATO didn't shoot down that plane, ERDOGAN's regime did. The US has already clearly disassociated itself with the Turkish action. So you're not with "NATO". You're with the strongman Erdogan. The Islamist regime of Turkey should not be a part of NATO.
But the Ruskies got what they deserved. Their bombings have barely touched ISIS. Instead, they have concentrated on the rebel groups, some Western-backed, closest to the butcher Assad's stronghold because their purpose in Syria is to prop up their puppet Assad, NOT to fight ISIS. In the process they have murdered many civilians.
Erdogan and Putin are both evil.
I hope they destroy each other.
The so called moderate rebel groups and ISIS are indiscernible from one another. They are all mercenaries. Period. The West has no legal ground on which to back a civil war against a sovereign Head of State. Claiming that one terrorist group is clandestinely western backed is not a a compelling defense.
Calling Assad a "butcher" is merely propaganda language used by neoliberal propagandists and news outlets.
Condemning civilian murder while defending NATO / UN interests is the worst type of hypocrisy. Should we delve into the half million Iraqi children starved to death due to USA sanctions of Iraq post desert storm, the thousands of civilians killed over the years in drone strikes, or the Palestinians?
On what grounds are your demons pure evil, exactly, in comparison and are you ready to evenly apply your rationale for Assad's ousting to the rest of the West?
