I haven't heard that on the news.

Please post a credible source.

Why can't you just say that the Pentagon denied involvement? Sheesh.

Sounds like a deliberate provocation.
The Russian defence ministry was quoted by TASS Russian News Agency as saying: "A probe is in progress into the circumstances of the Russian plane crash."
It said the plane had stayed within Syrian airspace and that "objective monitoring data confirm this".

Sounds like you believed the first thing you heard. We'll find out what the truth is down the line

Russia got a surprise response by doing something it has done down through the decades. Flying into other countries airspace and daring a response from that country.

Russia has done this over Alaska, Canada and even flew close to California while been tracked and escorted to the door.

This time Russia chose badly. They tested a country that has no tolerance for bullcrap and got an un-anticipated response. Now stupid Putin will have to either back the hell off Turkey or ratchet this up another notch.

Remember SKAL flight 007 got shot down with 269 innocent souls aboard with the pilot of the MIG reporting back before firing he could see people behind the well lit cabin windows. He followed orders and killed them all.

At least this time Turkey can remind Russia it's plane wasn't a commercial flight as was KAL 007 and flight M17 with 285 innocent souls on board, now almost certain to have been shot down by a Russian supplied ground to air missile by Russian supported rebels in the Ukraine.

All Erdogan needs do is remind Russia of it's more recent history as regards the shooting down of any aircraft along with the admonishment they were warned just a week or so ago, another incursion would result in a decisive and effective response.

Erdogan could also go for the comedic relief shot and use that line from The Hunt for Red October:

"what,.... first you lose cruise missiles over Iran, now you say you've lost a fighter jet over Turkey...we'll let you know if we find anything."

It will not involve Obama at all until one sovereign NATO member nation comes under attack. Until then he and long-jaw Kerry should keep their pie-holes out of it.
Except this is the garbage that escalates to start world wars.

What if Putin decides to make an example of Turkey? What will Obama do, draw another red line?

Sounds like you're on Putin's side.

I'm with NATO.

Maybe you're right, and this is a provocation. But now Russia has the right to launch a missile attack on Turkey, in accordance with international law. If Jet was shot down on the territory of Syria.
