Yes, and those "expectations" seem to derive from the total misunderstanding of America: i.e., the government is responsible for taking care of us all! NO...the Constitution of the USA "gives and guarantees" every citizen THE RIGHT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR OWN LIVES. It opens the door to the freedom to establish the opportunity for each citizen to go as far as they wish with their own lives. Government interference simply takes from those that do take complete self-responsibility and gives it away to those who either don't understand what life is all about or are too lazy to take self-responsibility for themselves, with the exception of those mentally or physically incapable of doing so. Those incapable are a very tiny, tiny number which should be the responsibility of each State...not the Federal government.

Trust? I dont trust any of them. "Trusted politician" is an oxymoron. Actually, it is not even an oxymoron because you never hear that phrase, because it doesn't exist. You cannot make it this far in American politics without being corrupted.

If trust is a qualification for getting votes, nobody would ever vote. You just have to put trust aside and pick the candidate that you think will do the best for the country.

Good grief! You are so mixed up. I will agree that FDR was a mess and did a lot of destruction. Social Security is a savings-for-the-future program and paid for by employees and employers. Now the government has stolen all the contributions and substituted IOU's which do not pay interest...not one penny. If SS had been left alone and kept government fingers out of the safe, it would be very solvent.

Johnson's welfare agenda has led to a whole mess and has destroyed many segments of society. As for "economies" you are simply not understanding that "all nations in the world" don't have and have never had the fantastic free economy that built the greatest country in the world's history...AMERICA! What I am seeing in your post is today's crap educational input.

Sanders is by far the most genuine. (Ie, HONEST) That goes a long way with me. He also has the best plans for the nation to address the widening income gap. For all the naysayers yelling "how can we afford that!?!!" JUST LOOK AT HIS TAX PLAN!!
His TAX PLAN will destroy America.

A socialist system would strip him of it all. When a poorer man does it, he's genuinely ignorant about the facts...it and usually means he's a Beck/Rush/Hannity fan.

Bernie Sanders isn't a communist, but because he believes in socialism, the rich want him destroyed immediately before he convinces the people of the truth. The poorer man wants him destroyed because... well, because the rich man has convinced him that Bernie is the devil, and that Welfare is the devil's only son.

Socialism is a system "of the people, by the people and for the people". Please, if you don't understand that, start reading up on it, but stay away from rightwing material. The Capitalists will die convincing you to protect their status in life...and it's time the nation wised up to the tactics.

Capitalism once served America well, but now only the 1% benefits from it, and the rest of us give servitude to that 1%. No wonder the Capitalists fight to retain it.
Wrong! Socialism will lead to either Communism or Bankruptcy of America, thus the destruction of America in either case.

Do you have a link to somewhere showing his campaign asking people for money?

I don't go around asking people for money, but if people started sending me $100 bills in the mail because they like something I said, I wouldn't send it back. He is the front runner and he has collected less than 1/3 of some candidates that are barely in the race. Mostly from 74,000 private citizens that sent in $10-$100.

Please educate yourself. The two are vastly different systems in that The People share all the profits, make all the decisions, own all the utilities, etc. The government and the capitalist have no say and no power over The People.

It's hard for people in our profit and greed oriented society to envision a system that doesn't involve profit and greed.

Trump has publically admitted that he takes donations from average citizens only (those who send him $10 to 50 personal checks, etc). He refuses money from big corporations because he knows they all want and demand something in return. I actually like what Trump is doing. Unfortunately I think he is unqualified to run our country in a dignified manner.

LORRYSDA... please don't just throw things out there without backing them up. Explain how you believe socialism will lead to communism and thus destroy America. You're letting your fear and emotions rule you.

Political independent here, I'm going into this election with an open mind. I just watched Carson and Sanders on This Week George Stephanopoulos. Did anyone catch the show? I was impressed with Carson's well thought out answers about foreign policy and healthcare to Stephanopoulos' tough questions. He has a very holistic view of the issues. I tried to listed to what Sanders had to say, but was too distracted by the candidate's arm waving and mannerisms to take in much. What little I did seemed vague. I wonder if he is someone who will be taken seriously by other world leaders were he to be elected.
