America, on the other hand, ranks 15th for freedom, just behind Costa Rica and the Netherlands.
The best countries for personal freedom are:
1. Canada
2. New Zealand
3. Norway
4. Luxembourg
5. Iceland
6. Ireland
7. Sweden
8. Denmark
9. Australia
10. Uruguay
Canada is the Freest Nation in the World, Legatum Study Says

Both of my top two "dream destinations"[New Zealand/Ireland] rank far higher than the U.S.!

Sounds legit. I certainly didn't think we'd rank higher than Canada. I'm far more surprised that we aren't in the top ten, but then, i guess i shouldn't be.

I had trouble with this study as it puts America number 9 in education, when so many other studies have shown us way at the bottom in education.

Interesting, all the countries at the very bottom are mostly Muslim countries.

It is based on how free they feel:

Quote:
92 percent of Canadians thinking the country is a good place for immigrants. In addition, about 94 percent of Canadians believe that they have the freedom to choose the course of their own lives, the study says.
If you feel free, then you are free.

If you don't feel free, they you are not. Americans do not feel free, and that is why they rank 15.

To many Americans freedom would be being free from taxes, and government, with that mindset, they will never be free. Their mind is inprisoned by their own unrealistic views.
