Yes, sorry it went over your head. $15/hr is considered below middle class pay in 32 states, so no one should be considering $15/hr to be a good paying job. When people who make $15/hr get upset that people making less than them want to be paid more, those making $15/hr should be wondering why they are being paid so little rather than wanting others to be paid less.
Sorry, I don't think I can explain it any more simple than that.
Well the good news is that people need not wonder any longer. As I explained in my original reply, the reason they aren't getting paid more is that they simply aren't worth more.
That is the right wing mantra, Americans should be making less money so that those making the most can make more, it is called the New Right Wing American Dream.
Trump was clumsy and inarticulate. I don't think he really had a chance, anyway.
I did like both Rubio and Carson's reply and explanation. The $15 national minimum wage is a terrible idea. But minimum wage earners usually vote Democratic anyway (along with those who have PhDs) so it's not likely to hurt anyone who is the nominee.
To be fair, America is in a "damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't" situation. The United States originally built its economy on manufacturing, by protecting our industry, and keeping our wages artificially deflated(basically, America of the past, was China of today).
Upon what basis do you claim that historically, American wages were "Artificially deflated" ?

Reworded that statement seeks the same end as saying 'energy prices wil necessarily skyrocket under my energy plan and from the energy czar, 'our gas prices need to approach thse of Europe.
Well if wages are stagnant and energy prices skyrocket, who is making a profit on working Americans.
That is how dems say, " Americans should be making less money so that those making the most can make more, it is called the New Left Wing American Dream."
Minimum wage is what's called a price floor. All it does is create dead weight loss in the market, while preventing skilled workers from earning an actual livable wage.
Ideally, a construction worker should earn $25 per hour while the kid that flips his burgers makes $5 dollars an hour.
Instead, some would rather have a construction worker earn $15 per hour while another grown man or woman flips his burgers for the same wage.
That is what's wrong with this country. MR. Trump is just pointing out the VERY obvious to anyone with an ounce of business sense.
The left wing mantra; "Americans should be unemployed because they cannot compete in a global market" and "rich people who support the left are good rich people and government should help them make even more money". It is called the New Left Wing American Dream - a few really rich people and millions of unemployed people.
Global market is code for third world pay, also code for race to the bottom. The right wingers won't be satisfied until the US is a third world country with jobs paying pennies on the dollar for manual labor that most Americans will be forced to deal with or starve in unemployment.
Well the good news is that people need not wonder any longer. As I explained in my original reply, the reason they aren't getting paid more is that they simply aren't worth more.
That is a weak excuse, though I love it when I ask how much a specific position is worth, right wingers dodge that question and try to deflect as much as possible.
Workers need to realize they are more valuable than what they are told. We need to move beyond the being lucky to have a low paying job mentality that the right wing has been pushing this country towards.
