That's how everyone nowadays identifies their political beliefs. Yet, we keep electing believers in big government, with the only difference between the Rs and Ds being that one side is social liberal and the other is socially conservative. Makes no sense.

99.9% of the people you meet are statists. There is no difference between them.

Socially liberal requires big government spending tax money. Economically conservative means balanced budget, not spending more than you have. That means more taxes. What you describe is definitely not Republicans.

You need to get out more. Everyone does not identify as socially liberal and economically conservative, not by a long shot.

And just how do the economically conservative pay for the bloated programs that the socially liberal espouse?

Right.

I have no clue what positions 99% of the people I meet hold since its none of my business so I don't ask them.

I sincerely doubt the OP does either.

social liberalism is a mental disorder. It touches everything and is getting out of hand. No boundaries, no standard, no nothing- just do as we please and hope all falls into place.

I identify my political beliefs as fascist libertarian. It makes no sense, even to me, but its the closest I have come to describing them.

By this definition, everyone would be a Libertarian.

In reality, people that follow that particular combination of ideology seem to pick their candidate (from one of the two major parties) based on which they value more; economic issues, or social issues.

I self-identify as an extreme moderate. All non-moderates should be castrated to prevent their reproduction of non-moderate off spring.
