Prayer is a waste of time. On the whole, religion has done a signifigant amount of harm to the human race. Ten thousand prayers does nothing to help the 128 people killed in Paris!
Humans have done significant harm to the human race. Religion has been a justification or impetus in many cases, but I don't for second believe that those raising religious banners to justify their atrocities would have been any less evil and wouldn't have found some other means of rationalization for their actions.
ISIS is counting on all the Christians to declare that Islam is evil and that the US must destroy all Muslims, it will fulfill their prophecy that there is a war on Islam and that true believers thwe world over must join them in the fight to stop Islamic genocide. Small attacks like this arent terrorism, they're propaganda.
I don't believe that the majority sentiment is that we must destroy all Muslims, or that Islam is evil. The radicals are evil, for sure. It's the radicals that need to be eliminated. Call these attacks what you want, there are still over 100 dead and many more injured. These people didn't die at the hands of the peaceful.
Meaningless gesture. More relevant to assist as needed to destroy the sources funding and organizing these groups.
In fact, I would be for a formal declaration of war against ISIS to include military invasion of the their bases and martial law in our homelands to remove anyone considered a threat.
I'll get blasted for this but in wake of these horrible attacks in Paris what wrong with the French making announcements to innocent civilians in ISIS held territory to get the hell out---give them a month to pack their bags---and then without warning once the area is cleared dropping neutron bombs and wiping ISIS out like radiating cockroaches? ISIS rebels have a clear choice: scatter with the civilians which would be like cutting the snake's head off, or staying, holding their ground and being roasted to a cinder. The infrastructure would stay intact and once intelligence knew that most or all of ISIS was wiped out the civilians could return to an ISIS-free area. If ISIS comes back rinse and repeat. Russia wouldn't retaliate because they hate the Syrian rebels more than the French do right now. The only person of significance who would benefit is Assad but he's an evil we'd just have to learn to live with And the innocent citizens would be free of ISIS and stop flooding Europe.
ISIS is a cancer that must be radiated or it will swallow the entire Mideast.
So we give them a month to pack their bags and get the hell out to...EUROPE! Brilliant!! And when you give the "warning" ISIS will listen, get the hell out, too, and when it's all over, regroup. Brilliant, again!!
