In China, what has finally appeared? Bacteria that is immune to EVERY SINGLE ANTIBIOTIC. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
And this is a general mutation that could hop into other strains of bacteria. Basically, in five years or so, we're going to see people in the prime of their lives dying from Pink-Eye and Salmonella.
And where is Washington on this? Where are the candidates? Where are the people flipping out and demanding action? Cue the crickets!
Scientists literally have to go back to the drawing board and come up with new antibiotics, and fast. This mutation is GUARANTEED to spread, and at best it may be delayed by a few years.
But by all means, continue to be terrified of the Syrian refugees, the Mexicans, the "evil 1%" or whatever else your favorite demagogues from either party are going on about. Ignore the real threat and remain the mindless pack of sheeple society has turned you into.

Tell me more about this consensus.
Why do you keep talking about "the scientists" like they are on your side? Medicine and the scientific community are well aware of antibiotic resistance. Did you miss the part where this came from a pig farm?

The science is settled, and an overwhelming majority of scientists say otherwise. It's proven safe for the dinner table, or else your government wouldn't allow it in meats. Science wins again.

This is about new strains of antibiotic resistance brought about by overuse of antibiotics in animals. Did you read the actual article by The Lancet...can you understand? Do you get how antibiotics and bacteria work?

Your government wouldn't allow anything on your plate unless it was safe for consumption. And the consensus among scientists is that it's safe. More scientists have determined it's safe. You hate science.
Don't tease!
I've been praying for the zombie apocalypse!
