Millennials Aren't As Liberal Once They Start Making Money - Matt Vespa

If the choice is between Obama and a Bible-thumper, they are not voting against the American Taliban "because they want free stuff" but because they don't want someone else's morality shoved down their throats.

And what generation elected FDR and campaigned for Gene McCarthy and George McGovern again?

While the Boomers were going "ring-around-the-rosey" while high as a kite and listening to whatever Woodstock garbage they loved so much, people that same age today are doing this instead:

Trust me...there is nothing "PC" about a group of people I've heard at least one sociologist refer to as "Generation 4chan."

And there were probably more people at Woodstock alone then there are professors today. My generation would have vomited at the Hippie garbage and told them all to get jobs and haircuts. I just don't understand how the "Summer of Love" generation has such a short memory. They went down the "hippie trail" and wasted years of their lives eating granola and "living off the grid"...we spend maybe four minutes a day texting, and we never hear the end of it

I'm a younger Gen Xer, but I still see how my generation was ALMOST as bad as the Boomers. Why? This was their mantra for a long time and it caused the mess we are in now:

Yes, I like capitalism and all but come on! Gen X also were the ones who purchased giant, ugly McMansions for no reason and invented the term "starter house" (?) and caused the financial meltdown.

No, they have dreams of doing more productive work in less time. Society is changing. The modern workforce is all about telecommuting.

Literally all I really want out of this supposedly free country is the same thing I've been wanting for at least 4 years: a decent job. It's getting old having to complain about it. Can be minimum wage I don't really care. I just have to like the job itself. That's all it will take for me to restore some faith in America again.

Once that is accomplished (hell will assuredly freeze over) we can work on:
-Scammers to be taken more seriously by the law.
-Copyright infringement to be taken less seriously. It's only an issue for the rich corporations.
-Minimize debt
-Comcast to be taken down and become a regular corporation again.

Count me in as another Generation Xer who's sick and ****ing tired of hearing about how great the Baby Boomers and Millennials are. The former are shamelessly self-serving, and the latter are dangerously naive. They're more than likely the two most overrated generations in American history, and the strength in numbers both generations have is a major reason why my hope for the future of this country has steadily diminished in the last 10 years.

What do American Millennials want?

I'd say aside from world peace they want free health care, a free college education, a guaranteed $60,000 starting salary upon graduation, a 35 hour work week, and 6 weeks paid vacation just like those lazy boomers received right out of college, right?

Millenials largely support socialism, because we're inheriting a nation that's already saddled with trillions in debt for Medicare, bank/housing bailouts, and wars.

The country's leaders have already proven that they are irresponsible with spending; so if they're going to spend irresponsibly it ought to be spread more evenly across the American population, not just old and wealthy people.
