Obama threatens to veto blockage of slowing Syrian refugees into the U.S.

Bill passes with enough margin in House that Obama's veto can be overridden. 47 Democrats joined to vote down Obama's Middle East Refugee Program. That's a significant number of the ever shrinking number of Democrats left in the House. They see the writing on the wall for sticking with Obama & King Hilarious over this.

I imagine that Nancy Pelosi's can't be too happy right now.

We're too busy trying to be the world's heroes.

Again, by the numbers this is an insignificant issue per se. But from a direction of this country and it's safety to its citizens, that guy I voted for twice is sending the wrong message IMHO.
Well not helping these refugees and adding more stabilty to the world will make it a more dangerous place in the future, they are losing a generation in Syria, Iraq and other places because of over 10 years of war. Lack of education and culture will make these younger refugees ripe for terroists in the future. We cannot just isolate ourselves and that is where we are heading.

10 of the 45 Dem Senate seats up for grabs in 2016.

Michael Bennet (Colorado)
Richard Blumenthal (Connecticut)
Barbara Boxer (California) retiring in 2016
Patrick Leahy (Vermont)
Barbara Mikulski (Maryland) retiring in 2016
Patty Murray (Washington)
Harry Reid (Nevada) retiring in 2016
Brian Schatz (Hawaii)
Charles Schumer (New York)
Ron Wyden (Oregon)

Are the DNC and Senate incumbents and hopefuls willing to filibuster the bill in the Senate and take a chance that ISIS won't strike anywhere in the U.S. before the 2016 election? Wonder if they're asking themselves how lucky they feel...

It's a convoluted and complicated political and social future this world is heading into. The U.S. has always operated with the "open door" policy, and thus it's a melting pot. And your point is taken, because the risk is if we do keep them out they may look for others to take them in, and those others could be the growing terrorist society worldwide.

But what does the U.S. need to do to protect its citizens and its borders? The world is different today than in the past, and risk assessments need to be made. We are not the only country fighting terrorism (the new way of war) while trying to protect itself, but each foreigner allowed into this country is yet another potential terrorist, as is those already here including U.S. born citizens.

The U.S. has fought for worldwide stability. Is it working? And if that continues to be the focus, you don't think that in itself makes it easier for terrorism to continue to grow?

Am I crazy, or is Obama really that scary?
the only threats obama ever makes is against republicans. That makes Obama a domestic terrorist.

Some Repubics are already expressing regret over their affirmative vote, the veto-proof majority in the House may not hold up, especially when the eve of the next government shutdown arrives on Dec 10.

I do think that we need to consider that if Trump starts sending back millions of illegal Mexicans, we could replace them with Syrians, millions of Syrians picking our crops and mowing our grass....

Many "immigrants" aren't "melting" today. They want to remain separate from mainstream society.

Are you joking? We already have unlimited visas for legal crop pickers and illegals have taken over the entire commercial landscaping business. The latter is a job that Americans have always done and would o again. We don't need more people here seeking jobs that Americans would and can fill.
