The student, who represents Stevenson College in the Student Union Assembly, reportedly received a message from the chair of the Stevenson student council informing him that the council had voted to exclude him from the vote over concerns that he was elected by “a Jewish agenda and that the Jewish community rallied with [Bernstein] to elect [him] the Stevenson rep.”
“You will be abstaining, as the president of JSU that is the right thing… There was also a comment tonight that you were elected by a..hmm [I don't know] if these are the right words but let’s say…a Jewish agenda.”

Bernstein quite rightly ignored the message and voted. Nothing happened to him.

I deeply hope that UCSC is investigating this, because if it happened as reported (and keep in mind that there's been no third-party fact checking), it was wrong.

To answer your question, anti-semitism is non-partisan, you can find plenty of historical examples on both the right and left, in this country and in others.

All the UCs are so incredibly racist against Jews and pro-Palestinian. This comes as no surprise.

It wasn't the university administration that tried to keep bernstein from voting.

The Left and Islam have so much in common. Both totalitarian in nature.

I wasn't necessarily referring to the administration, but the students and their organizations.

Yup...with the increase in Muslims in this country, look for anti-Semitism to increase. A lot.

We're already seeing it in Dallas...subtle, but there's definitely more of it than there used to be. And it's not coming from the white country club set either.

Just pointing it out. You'd be surprised how many people don't distinguish between a student body organization and a university administration.

Most students do not engage in student body organizations.

Internet/ social media and 24/7 news cycle increasingly gives student body orgs more attention than they warrant.
