Isn't it natural selection when someone isn't smart enough to follow the simple instructions of armed cops who are more than willing to use lethal force? What good would someone this stupid ever contribute to society? This cop is a hero in my book.

I've defended the police in some other cases, but this is one where it seems pretty clear this was a murder. I don't know about 1st degree? The idea that the cop had this killing planned in advance seems far fetched to me. Just because someone doesn't have a gun, doesn't mean it's a murder if the cops shoot them. That said, at 21 feet, with just a small knife and multiple cops on the scene there's no reason they couldn't have tased him or something imo. 16 shots makes it even more ridiculous. To me it sounds like he just f'ing snapped.

Say it aint so. You mean the crazed knife wielding ghetto psycho who was willing to run up to a trigger happy cop was stupid and wouldn't have amounted to anything?

He was closer than 21 feet. 21 feet is the minimum distance you should allow a knife wielding psycho near you.

Dumb hoodie martyr #275 was less than one lane away. So around 7-10 (MAX) feet away.

Ok seriously, why trot literally in the middle of the street with a knife visibly in your hand and disregard officers when they tell you to drop the weapon? This isn't a race issue; this is just stupid. ANYONE who does this kind of stuff, white or black, is welcoming the possibility of death with open arms.

I think the police officer should be tried for this boys death. Looking at the video, there were already officers on the scene, this officer pulls up and within 30 seconds puts 16 rounds in this person is just insane. There was nothing justified about this shooting at all. How many police offices are you going to stab with a 3" knife at 20 feet away, just use the taser on him and he would have dropped the knife very quickly.

Just viewed the video. Appears somewhat excessive on the face of it.

Are lanes 20 feet wide in Chicago?
