The SB police I'm sure are doing a very professional job especially being supported by all the local, state and federal agencies involved assisting them in the investigation.
Multi agency cooperation is magnitudes higher now than when I was an LEO. Obviously the world has changed quite a bit in the last 25 years.
A lot of federal money has been spent improving it. To be honest though, I too was surprised it actually worked so well.
Both the SB police and the Colorado police were amazing. I think the Colorado ones were slightly better, but its hard to know because the evolution of the two situations was so different. IE one they got immediately engaged in and took multiple casualties, the other 2-3 had to be found, and chased down.
That was then and this is now.

Then after the election the new GOP president and Congress will pass a sweeping security bill that in 10 years the further right will want to repeal? Seems like we have been here before. So tell us, what exactly do you want/expect conservatives to do that they haven't already said they're opposed to doing?
Yeah, a workplace violence incident where a guy gets pissed off and comes back with a couple friends/girlfriend/whatevers to conduct a military-style raid?
If you believe that, you're a complete imbecile.
So your theory is that ISIS sent two people to case a party, pretend to get in an argument, leave and then come back in order to kill 14 people?
Wouldn't an organization like ISIS use two or three people to hit a mall or ball game where they can do more damage? Also--they ran away, so did not appear that these were religious martyrs. Not sure I'd be calling people 'imbeciles.'
I have yet to see any element of proposed gun control laws that would change the underlying dynamics of these sorts of things. The time to ban guns in the US was when we formed the country. Now? That ship has sailed.
If you want to solve the issues, look at the causes.

So is your theory that someone got in to an argument at a party, stormed out, called on two of his friends/family/acquaintances, grabbed their ARs, grabbed a bunch of explosives, donned their protection gear, and all three went back to that party to settle a "dispute"?
My theory: muslim family was doing okay, things were going well, then someone at work made them mad. So they got together and said "few let's jihad their ass!" Sort of like "going postal" but if we go postal we mine as well make it a jihad.
