We'd be enjoying several decades of prosperity and renewal instead of being spread thin trying to avoid world war 3.

No one exposes the failures of the Republican party and conservative philosophy as well as Al Gore which is why they hate him so much. And he was/is real and practiced unlike the bedroom BS "intellectuals" they site.

LOL. Indeed.

Totally disagree, his books are insightful and supported by verifiable data. Just because you don't like his political viewpoint, does not negate his intellect and ability to explain why certain ideologies are doomed to failure.

Which of his recent books in particular support your belief that his most recent books are "bumper-sticker" slogans? And, is this based on reading the actual book or just based on the title of the book?

This comparison made me laugh a little.

But OK.

It's been awhile since I read one of his books. I'm going off of his columns, which have abandoned his old line libertarian, pro-immigration, pro-drug legalization commitments and into tinfoil hat territory.

All his talk about "process costs" is a great solvent when applied to bad liberal ideas. Oddly, he never sees fit to apply the same mode of logic to whatever right-wing ideas are safely fashionable nowadays.

Sowell can be really intimidating when he wants to be----he's got that look-----only a battle hardened Marine can give you. I really like those old school black guys from a by-gone era. The guys who preserved all on their own----there's a lot we all can learn from them.

His books and his columns are two very different beasts. His columns are opinion pieces, whereas his books are more in-depth and intended to educate the reader as well as make the reader think and see how society is effected regarding economic and socioeconomic factors when liberal v conservative ideology is applied to certain social issues.
