The rule is that what Conservatives desire, is BAD for the country as a whole. Republicans want to cling to their guns because of a backwards view of the 2nd Amendment, and of course this is absolutely wrong in a post-Bush world, made more dangerous by inept Republican policies here and abroad.
ALL guns should be banned and all should be confiscated. Severe penalties for violators. The NRA must take the wrong side of this argument for self-preservation.

I can see why they are so frustrated, and always making up things because they can't get past the Mountain and those who support it, which dwarfs what they have. Hope you didn't have to pay for that check. If that's what you believe the check did not work. A "Wacko" that can not pack a Background check is already banned from buying a gun. He would know that and buy one illegally. So what do you propose? A New Law that bans a Criminal from Buying an illegal Gun? Or a "Better" Background check, that he skipped to start with? A Terrorist would kill you without a blink of the eye, yet your more afraid of a man who can't pass a background check? Really?

The current reports on the San Bernadino shooters is that they were not sent by Isis. They were independent self-styled Isis sympathizers from what anybody knows. They could easily have gotten their guns anywhere. Too easily.

Anyone ever notice that no gun owners or enthusiasts ever mention wanting to own Bazookas, Nukes, Machine Guns, or Explosives? Its always the anti-gun crowds fantasies. What does that tell us? Keep in mind, these are the same folks who chastise gun owners for not sitting down with them for a "Meaningful" Dialogue. These are the same people that want to Ban "Barrel Shrouds" and have no clue as to what one is. Same folks who want to Ban "Scary Looking" Guns. How would you like to be involved in that dialogue?
I think its possible that a lot of these folks are just angry because they could not pass a "Background Check" at one time, and could not buy a gun. Now they want everyone to feel their pain. Its highly possible.

You don't want to ban ALL guns. You want the government to still have them, so they can take them from civilians. You want the government to be able to impose its future will against its people with no way to resist.
To impose your fantasy on Americans, you will need 2/3 of both houses, and 3/4 of all state legislatures to agree with you and repeal the 2A. Good luck with that.
