So let's make it even easier for the felons and terrorists to acquire guns by eliminating all gun control laws.

Wow, you're a genius.

That's extremely poor research and writing.

Quote:
While they were originally sold legally, with magazine locking devices commonly known as bullet buttons, the rifles were subsequently altered in different ways to make them more powerful, according to Meredith Davis, a special agent with the ATF.
They shot a 5.56x45 round before the modifications and they shot a 5.56x45 round after the modifications. Unless they changed the barrel for for something like a .300 Blackout or a 7.62x39 or even a 6.8SPC round, the guns still had the same "power".

The Smith & Wesson rifle was changed in an attempt to enable it fire in fully automatic mode,
Here's how you convert. There are a few parts that are EXTREMELY difficult to get at a price most can afford.

while the DPMS weapon was modified to use a large-capacity magazine, she said.
From what I have read, they modified it to use a regular mag release button instead of a bullet button. It's the button in the middle of the picture below. It costs $3 online and takes about 2 minutes to change without any special tools.

The last 5 pages reiterate the fact that everyone is locked into their own opinions regarding guns. The FACTS, however, are not opinions and are irrefutable.

There are only TWO things which would have prevented or mitigated the carnage in San Bernardino:

1. Had the neighbor ignored political correctness and reported the odd behavior she witnessed, and

2. If at least one person in the room (preferably more) had been armed and trained in the use of their weapon.

THAT'S IT. The rest is fairy tales, unicorns and agenda-driven BS.

This is why we keep saying the gun control is not tight enough.

Thanks for making the point for us.

Dumb statement of the day........Guns are inanimate objects that only go BANG when someone consciously or unconsciously goes through the act of pulling the trigger. People kill, rape and steal.

Under the dumb statement rule we need laws against Dairy Queen because people are getting fat

The only correct part of the article is the straw purchase. The technical information is poor reporting at best.

This is the smartest statement of the day. Logical and well thought out

In CA any magazine holding more than 10 rounds is illegal to use but not posses.
So if you used a 15 round mag, you are using a 'hi capacity magazine'.

Why or how would you modify such a firearm when you don't need to.

40 round magazines are easily and legally available...no modification to the firearm required.

Maybe ban duct tape as you can tape two mags together and flip them

I doubt 'the shooters' modified the guns. someone may have but it is unlikely 'the shooters' didn't. they were ideologs not gunsmiths.

Just questioning the acuracy of what was reported in the article.

Yes we should make it as easy as possible because some violate gun laws, sounds logical.
