The shooting in California really shows the problem with letting 10,000 or more Syrian refugees in who can't be properly vetted. These were 2 people!
Out of 10,000, that would 0.2% and look at how many people were killed and how many more could have been.

This was not a gun problem, this was a Radical Islam problem. They wanted to kill as many people as possible and if they didn't have access to guns it would have been a bomb or something else. They even HAD bombs!

So, even if we CAN properly vet these people, which we can't. They are a ticking time bomb because who is to say they don't BECOME radicalized once they are here?
Again, 2 people... 0.2% out of the potential 10,000 they want to bring in can do this much damage.

The shooters were PAKISTANI. Farook was born in the US and his wife came to America on a visa.

Get your facts together.

Yeah, I am well aware that they weren't Syrian, genius! I was making a point that these were 2 radicals who did this much damage and could have done more. If we EXTRAPOLATE and imagine that 0.2 of the 10,000 Syrians we are planning to welcome with open arms will radicalize or already are and we miss them in the vetting process, this will happen again.

Shall we kick native born Americans out of the country, too? After all, he was born in the US as were all of the other mass shooters this year.

American citizens are not the same as immigrants. We don't have an obligation to bring them in.

the fact remains, it does give another reason for concern. If nothing else, closer background checks and more control over visas. If I understand this right, we are not talking about a long term relationship between the two of them. They hadn't even known each other that long. Why in the HELL was she given the visa? It is one thing had they been dating for years, had planned the wedding, but this whole thing stinks to high heaven. And I want to make sure, as sure as possible no one entering our country is a treat. I know we can't always be in control, but let's do as much as we can.

If they want to do that, then they can never bring up criticism of FDR for detaining Japanese citizens ever again.

Yeah, charity is fine but I'm not willing to sacrifice American lives for it.

I have a feeling that these aren't the types who would have complained about internment camps. After all, if they were good enough for the Jews (who didn't belong in this country! they - we - were communist/agitators/spies/different), they were good enough for Japanese Americans.
