So you are alright with someone on a terror watch list being unable to fly but it is alright for them to purchase an AR-15, putting the second amendment aside do you have any idea the insanity of that statement.

Are you alright with some unknown bureaucrat striping you of your constitutional rights without due process of law?
This is pretty much what happened to the Jews in Germany, How did that work out for them?
The fact that you even think this is more frightening than all the ISIS fighters in the ME.

The best common sense gun law is to stop importing cultures that go to war with our culture and with themselves. Penalizing the responsible majority culture is nonsensical.

We already restrict people that are mentally ill (not nearly enough), criminal background and with restraining orders, why is different.

Having a problem following this thread, half the posters are on my ignore list.

BTW I do own guns and in favor of mandatory background checks. No free pass for terrorists and loony tune types.

In my opinion that is more frightening than all the ISIS fighters combined.

This stuff all started under Bush. Jeb, Christie and others have also argued to double down on the spying.

The reason it is still happening is mass hypocrisy on both sides.

Finding someone guilty without due process is though.

All of those things require due process, with a open process that you can fight against.
Now if the Government wants to open up the process of how someone gets on the secret terror list, make a fair and legal process for getting yourself off the list.

I agree too. But the background checks are only as good as the person entering the data too, and the place that checks the person has to have data. For example, the pending felony for the Charleston shooter wasnt in the SLED system in SC. And, a person filling out the 4473 form may or may not fill it in correctly.
Fingerprints are good, but, if the NICS system doesnt have data, then its no good.
There are mandatory background checks, except on private sales. The gun show loop hole is BS, and the media knows it. Go to a gun show and you will have a background check done, if buying.
In SC, you cant buy if you arent a resident, or military stationed there for example. Each state has laws, checks, wait times, etc etc.
One thing that cant be controlled is a Person. No matter how far you go into a persons background, mental health etc, a person is going to do what a person wants to do.
