I think to use the 2nd Amendment, adopted in 1791 during the supreme ignorance that was Slavery, is absolutely no basis for determining what our gun laws should be in the 21st century. That Conservatives cling to the belief that is does, is one of the greatest absurdities of American society. Severe gun restrictions are needed today. This should include gun confiscation and harsh penalties for violators.

To also say, discuss "without emotion", is itself utterly absurd. Tell that to the families of the people who were killed.

The founders gave you a channel to get rid of amendments you don't like.

No worries. You probably don't know that the US Supreme Court defined exactly what the 2nd Amendments means at the beginning of the 21st Century.
i.e. Individual Americans are allowed to own guns, governments (local & federal) absolutely can't pass laws that infringe on that right.

Good ****ing grief. The leftist can't get over their perpetual victim selves.

Repeal the damn thing but again the perpetual victim exploiters are to lazy and to much of a cowards to come out and declare this is what they want done.

Maybe your messiah will say that tonight? Funny.

How about this law, ENFORCE current laws and prosecute those who violate them.

We've all learned by now that no laws can prevent criminals and terrorists from getting guns, or any other weapons, and committing criminal and other horrendous acts.

Gun laws have been proven ineffective. If a criminal wants any gun you can imagine, he can obtain it. (Partially because of our open borders). The only ones who end up restricted is the law abiding citizen. Why not concentrate more on our court system that allows convicted felons to walk our streets again after they commit a crime with a firearm.

Back round checks that go deep into the person wishing to purchase, 35 day's minimum between check and taking the gun home.
No more purchase of guns at gun shows. no back round check no sale.

No more purchase and give the gun to someone else. Original purchaser needs to go to jail if the gifted or given weapon is used in a crime.

Keep purchase records in a proper data base. The gun manufacturers are who I think should have all purchase info for as long as the individual gun has not been destroyed, ( every transaction on every gun they make) this way the Govt will not have lists.

Get assault weapons off the market. They are for one thing and one thing only, the killing of other people.

A little responsibility shown by all gun owners can fix this.

A gun owner

The overwhelming vast majority of gun owners are responsible.

A non gun owner.
