Wow, what a horrible human being, he should definitely be locked up for this kind of behavior and shows that he shouldn't have access to guns and is probably a candidate for killing other people.

You're right, Dogs are typically better than people, IMO. And many dogs are considered to be family members. The family was actively looking for the dog. If that POS could have just kept the dog safe for one day, he would have likely been claimed by the family. Dogs get loose once in a while, what kind of heartless POS would simply decide to shoot a dog just because it was an inconvenience to him? A trip to the shelter would have determined that he was micro-chipped and the owner could have been contacted.

Any normal city or county run animal control operation hold strays for a certain period of time in order to give owners a chance to claim their pets. They usually get to pay a fee or fine in the process, but at least there is a process.

Something is very wrong in that corner of Missouri.

Correct captain obvious, however the puppy belonged to a family and the cop destroyed their private property ( as cops do)

What is it with cops loving to shoot dogs? It's like they jump at any chance to shoot a dog dead. Sick, sick, sick group of people. And we give them guns. Who was the bigger threat? This puppy or the psycho cop? Psycho cop is the one who belongs in a cage.

Im sure the captain never thought about the concerns of the puppies family. For most of us dog owners, dogs are actual family members.

What a scumbag!

What's almost as crazy is the mayor asked him to stay on the force after he handed in his resignation.

wtf??

I am a gun owner and hunt hogs (they are nasty agricultural nuisances). However I am a staunch environmentalist and do what I can for critters. I take in strays when they show up on my farm. Shooting a defenseless animal is beyond twisted.
