Ted Cruz is a joke. He is willing to change positions on a dime, he has no record of results, he alienates everyone except for the tea party, he's not a serious person.
Donald Trump is a dangerous person because he leads in the polls. He's a socialist, he hates this country, and he's a reckless individual who lacks the intelligence, judgement, leadership qualities, and character to serve as President.
Ben Carson is a nice enough guy, but he is unqualified to be President of the United States.
I find it very sad these are three of the five leading GOP candidates. But if it came down to it, I would support Ted Cruz or Ben Carson in a general election. Senator Cruz is a slick political opportunist, but he's not a corrupt progressive like Hillary Clinton. Ben Carson is a lot smarter than Hillary Clinton.
However, if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee for President, I will support Former Governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson in the fall of 2016 as the Libertarian Nominee for President. Between Clinton, Trump, and Johnson, only Johnson believes in free markets, limited government, and individual liberty. Only Johnson has a proven record of results in both business and in government.
Rand Paul was pretty darn impressive. Didn't make any off the radar statements, was concise, and laid out concrete plan's. I mean he has swayed my mind about a good candiate in the race.
Trump was impressive regarding he support the Republicans and side with Cruz if need be.
Cruz is a highly educated lawyer. His greatest strength is speaking. On that he has no equal on that stage. He can out speak everyone on it, and he did tonight. He is pandering up the evangelical base and the Tea Party crowd, and he will get stronger as time goes on.
The only genuinely common sense candidate who did not speak out both sides of his neck was Rand Paul. He and he alone.
Rand Paul is the only one who makes any sense and he'll never win.
Anyway, Rand Paul is about the ONLY anti big government candidate on stage. I wouldn't say he won the debate, but he had some very good moments. He might not be popular, he is certainly an adult.
Trump - did amazingly great. There is a difference between a good debater, or smooth talker, and someone with leadership skills. Rubio might be a good debater, he is not a leadership material. Trump is.
Rand Paul is the only one who makes any sense and he'll never win.
Rand Paul does make a lot of sense, I'm with him on economic policy and Syria, though not as much on other foreign policy issues. But again, the problem is that three of the five leading candidates are not serious candidates. Ted Cruz isn't as smart as people say, Donald Trump is an America-hating fraud, and Ben Carson is in way over his head.

They are all crazy extremists, except maybe Rand Paul, and maybe even Bush. And look where all his reasonableness is getting Bush. The REpublicans are crazy and they want a crazy extremist leader.

Trump, to me (key word: Me) did amazingly well.
Rest of the people, are not even good debaters.
