The AGW alarmists don't like satellite observations because those readings don't support their agenda. But what about the huge number of weather stations that have been compromised by building, HVAC, etc?
-------------------
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s reliance on poorly-sited weather stations to calculate surface temperatures is inflating the warming trend of the U.S. and maybe even the rest of the world, according to a landmark study looking at three decades of data.

“The majority of weather stations used by NOAA to detect climate change temperature signal have been compromised by encroachment of artificial surfaces like concrete, asphalt, and heat sources like air conditioner exhausts,” Anthony Watts, a seasoned meteorologist and lead author of the study, said in a statement Thursday.

These “compromised” weather stations run hotter than stations that are well-sited, and are used by NOAA as a benchmark to make upward adjustments for other weather stations that are part of the agency’s official temperature record.

Watts and his fellow researchers found only 410 “unperturbed” weather stations out of the 1,218 stations used by NOAA to determine U.S. climate trends. These “unperturbed” stations don’t need to be adjusted by NOAA because they had not been moved, had any equipment changes, or change in the time temperatures were observed.

Please. Anthony watts is a crackpot, and this shows when the only people taking him seriously is the daily caller.

He's a freaking meteorologist. This is like calling your garbageman a expert in recycling technology, and taking his advice on the best way to design a aluminum recycling plant. This is not Dilbert.

Great.... Will that be added to the treasure of trove of peer reviewed research Watt has submitted?

So the guy who took some meteorology classes in college before dropping out is your climate expert? I guess as long as he is saying what you want to hear, then it must be true.

In all honesty, I probably could. Then you know what happens? He releases some new crackpot nonsense, and meanwhile everyone finds new ways to say I was wrong when I refuted him, and gets into arguments about how I used the wrong font.

When someone with a huge history of releasing factually wrong things releases yet another one, I dont feel the need to go out and spend a day putting together something to rebut them. I just say "Its the crazy crackpot guy again".

Lifes too short.

OOPS! It looks like an actual CLIMATOLOGIST was a co-author of the study

Quote:
“It’s one of the factors they did not consider,” Dr. John Christy, a climatologist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and co-author of the study, told The Daily Caller News

You AGW alarmists are hilarious, you have the gall to accuse others of agreeing with things because it's what they want to hear when you will immediately dismiss something that runs counter to your dogma.

Next we will no doubt, hear reason why Dr. Christy should be discounted. It's like clockwork.
Everytime someone posts something that runs counter to your dogma, instead of actually reading or considering the points raised, you rush off and find as much mud you can throw on the author or the
source as if that diminishes the argument raised.

Utterly laughable and predictable.

Examining Dr. John Christy's Global Warming Skepticism

Its like people take these folks as being right because they match their preconceptions.

Now, lets be honest. If 1,000 Doctors all are asked the same question, and 900 of them say you should take drug X to cure your disease, and 100 say no use Y!

And the consequences if you use Y and are wrong its death, and the consequences of using X and its wrong is you are out some small amount of money and live.....what would you do?

BTW its utterly laughable and predictable because its RIGHT.

Yep, right on cue.
Let me guess.. you never examine the credentials of the alarmist scientists do you?
And it REALLY is rich that you bash Watts for being a meteorologist while you quote "Skeptical Science"
which is an AGW propaganda site run by a CARTOONIST.

Bad measurements go hand in hand with "adjusted" data.
