Well we are seeing signs of fight out of Europe: this latest incident in Corsica, the Pegida inspired marching in Germany and elsewhere. I've read reports of refugee centers and the like being set on fire or otherwise vandalized. Maybe too little too late, but I never thought I'd see native French march to the moslem neighborhood and ransack a prayer room.

Further to this point, an article in the New York Times on Christmas Day (I found this in random browsing) discussed a small firebomb attack on a major New York City department store, Gimbels (link to article).
This is exactly how the Nazis gained control. Civil authorities in Weimar were paralyzed by political consideration from controlling the Communists. The Communists used similar tactics even during the early 70's in New York, including this firebombing. I will gladly e-mail the article to anyone interested who can't access online.
