“Our efforts to stop the flow of gas by pumping fluids directly down the well have not yet been successful, so we have shifted our focus to stopping the leak through a relief well,” Anne Silva, a spokesperson for the Southern California Gas Company, told Motherboard, adding that the company is still exploring other options to stop the leak. “The relief well process is on schedule to be completed by late February or late March."

Wonderful.

Is it true that the Gas Company has stated this problem will not be fixed until March. And such a lovely area.

The homeowners must be up in arms about this situation.

California Governor Jerry Brown's sister is on the board of Sempra energy, the parent company of SoCal Gas. Needless to say, Brown has been almost silent on the issue.

I guess it could be asked, Why hasn't Donald Trump addressed the situation? Could he not shed some light on the darkness?

For instance, Mr. Trump could say: "This would not have happened if I were President."

Also,

"If I were President, I would have George (the old man that was his adviser on the Apprentice) to find a rock; a nice round rock the same size as the hole, and to drop the rock into the hole. Problem solved".

I must admit, the suggestion about dropping a rock down the shaft sounds appealing. If only we had a Red Adair around now!

Yes, it is true that it will take several months. And I do like the area.

No doubt many homeowners are angered about the situation.

While the exact cause of the leak is unknown, company officials believe the problem began when an underground well casing failed, allowing the pressurized gas to push through geological cracks to the surface near the community of Porter Ranch.

"The Obama administration announced proposed regulations over the summer to cut down on methane leaks from drilling and storage, citing concerns about the climatic impact of the approximately 7* million tons of methane lost to the atmosphere from industrial sources in the United States each year.

"Thanks Obama."
