Reddit is not a credible source, considering the numbers you cite include things like people being shot with BB guns. Heck even mother jones has debunked your numbers.

The FBI numbers do not reflect your claim. Why is it antis try and pass off non credible data as credible?

See you in hell.
The hell is not in Newtown, Aurora or Roseburg, as terrible as these tragedies were.

The hell is in St Louis, Detroit, South Chicago, Flint, Gary and dozens of other ghettos scattered across the nation.

More people were murdered in the City of Detroit alone last year than in all of the tragedies you listed, combined.

In very few of these murders legally obtained guns were used, and very few if any of the so called "assault rifles".

Instead of fixing the real problem, Obama is concentrating on a publicity sound bite that would not even make a dent in national murder rate - even if it worked as planned.

He cries on demand. But it must be on camera.

Because if people start looking at credible data - FBI stats - they will immediately see what is the biggest single contributor to the murder rate in the US. And it's not legal gun owners or NRA members.

Cool. So we've gotten to the point where it's acceptable to parse which spattered brains on the sidewalk are more or least objectionable. Got it.

Yep! Kinda' funny that the darling of the left Teddy Kennedy was on it. Hey, maybe that list really is good and right on target...

How about we start with the biggest single contributor to the murder rate. Send police door to door and corner to corner in the urban ghettos confiscating illegal guns and arresting those carrying them.

Every year, about 120 people - on the average - are killed in mass shootings (using FBI definition).

The same year, 11-12 thousand people are killed, at least half of them in ghetto violence.

A few dozen vs thousands... The choice seems obvious for anyone with even half a brain.

Except the anti-gun lobby. Their goal is not to reduce violence, but to restrict access to guns among people who actually respect the law. Because of course the criminals are victims of the system, but guns are evil.

Why don't you fight to end the real bloodbath, Einstein ?

Houston and Chicago are about the same size. Same demographics, No gun stores in Chicago. About 1700 places in Houston to buy a gun. Chicago gun homicides 1800 a year. Houston 200 a year.
Where did you get these numbers? Chicago gun homicides: 1,800?

False.

See you in hell.
So you're willing to limit a Constitutional right based on emotion? Sad and horrible tragedies all but you really need to be sure of what you want to do here. After 9/11, that was a horrible tragedy and it brought us the Patriot Act, something which I believe has trampled on our Constitutional rights. Are you really willing to do the same here? Or is it that you don't like guns and thus eroding this particular right doesn't impact you personally and therefore is okay.

I'm not a rabid strict 2nd Amendment with no restrictions whatsoever person but I also think we should think long and hard before limiting any of our rights. Those limits should be absolutely necessary and given the statistics, I personally do not think additional gun control laws is necessary even with these tragedies. It's a hard pill to swallow, sure, but freedom has never been easy.

Obama's EO has done nothing more than muddle when someone is or is not considered a gun dealer. We didn't need more confusion added to our gun laws, as what Obama has accomplished today.
