They should all be deported for subversive and un-American activities along with CAIR.

Actually I bet the pay is not that good. Mexicans had all those jobs at one time back in the 1980's and still would I bet if they weren't able to hire Muslims cheaper.

Starting pay? Meat [i]packers[i] or meat cutters? Meat packers are unskilled labor.

Minimum wage was only like $3.35 and hour in 1980 $8-10/her is equivalent to about $24/hr or more. I think meat processer use to make the equivalent of over $20-25/hr in '70's before we were flooded with foreign worker. I was working a part time job during high school in the early 90's at a supermarket and pay was $4.50/hr. The meat department manager told me he was paid around that much as a meat cutter when he started in 1972.

Well, here's a news story with a bit more detail - turns out the plant has been accommodating prayer times for about 10 years, but decided they would stop doing that - Muslim workers in Fort Morgan fired over prayer dispute walkout - The Denver Post

Edited to add - and here's a followup story - http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_29...olorado-muslim

Sounds like a standard religious accommodation dispute to me.

Also, the plant has been accommodating prayer times since 2009, so 6-7 years. The time is the employee's time, carved out of break times.

If I was a "Muslim"; I'd be real careful demanding ANY thing that only the Islamic religion "requires" in 2015.

Its cutting into production...no surprise and since there is THAT MANY that walked out obviously they were breaking the rules which say 2 to the room at a time. Why don't they all pool their money and open their own Halal meat market so they can run it as they see fit?
