But, But,But, Trump says he is gonna make America great again. Are you telling me he is trying to fool us? How can that be? He owns a lot of apartment buildings and golf courses so how could he possibly be lying to us. We all know rich guys are honest, that how they became rich.

Not anymore. Congress passes laws, but the president has veto power and control over the bureaucracy. That gives him power beyond what the constitution intended. We have laws on the books that aren't being enforced because of Obama's dictates. What does it matter about laws if the various departments refuse to enforce them? We should be relying on the media to hold the president accountable, but the media has refused to do so in this case. Watch them get back their principles if we get another republican in office.

Obamacare was passed by only democrats. They could have had anything they wanted in it, but they had the insurance lobby write the damn thing. But it is wholly owned by the Democrats. They should have made sure it would better serve the American people, but they passed it without reading it.

Oh really?

In theory suppose you are correct, but in recent memory and practice things on the ground are quite the opposite.

Name one EO that Congress has overturned/altered recently especially from Obama?

Yes, Obama got caught out with parts of the ACA especially having to do with religious exemptions and of course the whole "is it or is it not a tax" thing, but in a way that saved his bacon. If Chief Judge Roberts had not gone the way of a "tax" that would have been it for most of the ACA.

Getting back to gay rights Congress has not acted to reverse or reign in one single EO or directive issued by Obama or his administration. Who by the way greatly expanded protected class status via administrative fiat instead of law. The man is due to issue gun control EOs/directives next week so let us see where that goes.

Not only has Congress failed to reverse any of BO's EOs but just recently couldn't even get up enough votes to defund any of them either. So much for congressional power.

GWB created the office Faith Based Initiatives which is or was widely disliked but is still there.

Only if he respects the guard rails established by the Founders. They are just words on paper, and this President cares nothing for respecting them.

Our system will work only if we have a virtuous citizenry, and a virtuous leadership. We have little of the latter and not much more of the former. Neither Congress nor the courts have an Army or a Treasury, so Constitutional boundaries work only if leadership respects them. Since the advent of the Income Tax, and the non-stop efforts of the Federal government to be not only the Big Daddy Rabbit, but the only Rabbit in the field, they have faded fast under the onslaught of power-mongering. It has been mostly "soft" so far, but will turn "hard" when necessary in the eyes of the ruling class. Be prepared for it. We have had a few glimpses of it so far.

Is there a subtle power the president has to change the laws?
Like vote this way or get investigated by the FBI sort of thing?

Why did Obama wait till he was president to bring in obamacare?
Why not when he was in congress when that was his job to make new laws?
Pls educate.

Read the constitution. It's short and to the point.

well, at least Bernie got to call out Hillary Clinton and her ties to Wall Street, to her face. He will never be the president for this very reason, he is not the wall street favorite.

Also, he is a socialist, Americans generally view socialists in a negative way.

Bernie is a crazy old man, but i do respect him, at least he is not a liar.

Depends. Here's how:

If you like the sitting President and [insert favorite issue here] is going in your favor, then he made it happen;

If you like the sitting President and [insert favorite issue here] is not going in your favor, then he did not make it happen (the opposition did);

If you don't like the sitting President and [insert favorite issue here] is not going in your favor, then he made it happen;

If you don't like the sitting President and [insert favorite issue here] is going in your favor, then he did not make it happen (the opposition did).
