Government policies make people dependent. It's not wrong to want to be independent.

E pluribus unum. It's on our national money. Read it. Understand it.

If you are trying equate this to the Holocaust, you aren't convincing anyone.

So when are you heading out to the rest stop to support the siege?

Don't forget to bring snacks and snow camo.

Analogy escapes you. Please, tell us where the persecution of these ranchers stops if no one resists?

Sorry, I just got a chuckle out of this. Basically, you're on the right track, but you kind of missed the mark by just a little bit. There is actually no such church as the "Mormon Church" and no such church as the "Church of Latter Day Saints." You are actually referring to just one church here and it's called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly, but inaccurately known as the "Mormon Church" or the "Church of Latter Day Saints"). And yes, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has rejected their actions.

Neither did they, evidently. That is why, when confronted with their own mortality, the bullies high tailed it, without one shot being fired.
People willing to die, vs. people paid to be bullies.
Guess who wins every time that scenario plays out.
Who is going to fire the first shot... Government? Guess what that will cause.

Events such as this give a bad name to real freedom movements
and militias.
Our constitution provides for the protection and setting aside
of wild areas for conservation purposes.
We are welcome to some degree on these lands but are not
welcome to poach or burn it.
I suspect that the Hammonds and/or Ammon Bundy have an agenda
which is not what it seems.
Nobody should support these criminals.

The proper course is to cordon them off and allow them to starve
until they leave peaceably and prosecute them legally for wasting
resources and disrupting the peace.
Well put. These are the same people who want to log the last old growth forests, drill and mine in National Parks, kill off the last remnants of wolves, ignore evidence for climate change, endlessly expand the human population (through Mormon ideology) and so on. It's Manifest Destiny 2.0.

The government had to create wildlife refuges (a literal name) because human overpopulation and land-use keeps forcing wildlife into smaller and smaller areas. The perpetrators are not the victims. Most environmental protection is an attempt to stave off human impact on non-human species, i.e. to protect them from people. That whole concept is lost on right-wingers who never respected nature in the first place and only care about protecting their economic agenda. In the case of cattle-grazing, that agenda grabs a lot of land that wildlife used to inhabit (the true land-grab). That's the core issue. Too many people, roads, houses and livestock vs. ever-shrinking wilderness.

These phony patriots are stuck on the notion that Man owns nature and wild flora and fauna are useless. Everything must be a product or crop to satiate human commerce. They have no contextual understanding of how 7+ billion people are depleting nature.

The original "militia" was intended to help the government fight foreign enemies, not destroy it from within. These ungrateful dregs should be put on an island that they can raze and reap the "benefits" of their endless plundering.

These wildlife refuge haters are also hypocrites for invoking the name Captain Moroni.

Also, the name Cliven always reminds me of an evil cloven hoof, and the Bundy name in general has its own infamy.

It's not at all accurate, or fair to say that these people want to consume all of the natural resources. In the case of the ranchers, the Hammonds have been ranching the same land for decades, and the Bundys have been ranching on their land for 140 years. The idea that they want to destroy the land is beyond absurd.

This group is not protesting for the right to consume all of the natural resources, but are protesting against the federal government owning/controlling large percentages of the western states. This group wants local people to decide how to use their land, not the federal government.

The militia has grown. Now there is another militia there to protect the first militia and "secure the perimeter".
