Free speech for me and not for thee it seems.
this is very disturbing. nice to see our tax dollars at work.
What say you liberals? was this justified by one of your own?
Right, fire any professor that doesn't fit your mindset. Isn't that what the right generally complains about the left when they argue this?
That is what I meant. The article is dripping with hypocrisy all around.
While the right (and left) might be a bunch of whiners, they have every right to demand that she be fired for her ACTIONS.
She's not being attacked for her "mindset" but rather her fairly reprehensible actions.
Trying to portray this as her getting in trouble solely for her views is patently dishonest.
See, we the people can remove politicians via voting.
We can punish businesses by voting with our wallet.
With government employees however what direct recourse do we have?

Did you actually read the article? The lawmakers signed a letter to the University asking that this professor be terminated because she was shutting down free speech on the STATE University campus. This was happening on a Tax Payer funded campus.
Her removal has NOTHING to do with HER free speech, it has to do with HER attempt to intimidate student journalists at a campus protest.
The GOP is NOT LEGISLATING AWAY free speech, but are USING FREE SPEECH to seek the removal of this professor.
Here is an excerpt from the letter that the lawmakers signed:
The state lawmakers asked the university’s interim chancellor and governing board to “take immediate action to address the inappropriate and criminal actions” taken by Click during the November demonstrations.
“As an academic professional, her first goal should have been to promote a safe and stable learning environment for all students, and to represent the University to the public in a way that strengthens the image of our flagship state institution of higher education,” says the letter signed by more than 100 members of the House of Representatives and 18 state senators. “Instead Professor Click’s comments served to inflame an already caustic situation that was clearly out of line.”
Nothing in this excerpt looks to me like government overreach. I applaud the lawmakers' actions to protect the free speech rights of the university students!
