A better way to tackle America's gun problem

New tack for the gun grabbers, outlaw all semi-automatic firearms, not just the ugly black ones or so called "assault weapons".

That would impact ones like this:

and this

both sporting/hunting guns. For those who don't know what they are, the top one is a shotgun and the bottom example is a rifle.

so now my 22 rifle is illegal, why not just make the gun illegal that criminals are using, no I got a better idea, why not leave guns alone and make the crime, criminal are committing illegal. like if you rob a store with a gun, give him the chair. two years for robbing the store and his life because he had a gun with him

The dindu nuffins would be in an uproar about that. The author of that lil mind meld has obviously never heard of the old 18 shot revolver, speed loaders, tube magazines etc. A pump shottie can be manually fed with a stupid rate of fire. You quit shooting when you run out of the ammo you can carry. So, if you have a gym bag full of ammo you can pretty much shoot all day.

Damon Linker, the author of the linked op-ed piece, is not technically advocating "gun-grabbing" but rather he is advocating limiting the use of firearms with multiple shot capability (as opposed to single-shot weapons) to controlled safe zones, like gun ranges.

It's still a stupid idea.

So, all hunting would be with single shot rifles? The guy who wrote that knows nothing about guns.

First off America does not have a gun problem.

America has a social problem, addressing the root of the problem is deemed offensive and violates the social justice rules.

Gangs, drugs and drug users are America's problem, everything else is downstream of that core issue.

Meanwhile legislators insist on passing ineffective and very restrictive gun laws that do nothing to aleviate the daily death toll in cities like Newark and Detroit.

America's problem is its legislators and anti gun activists whose long term goal is a ban on private ownershipof firearms. toward that end they pass suffocating laws that do absolutely nothing to end or even reduce the daily death toll committed by gangs and criminals who choose to ignore the latest tear jerking motivated gun laws. They are willing to sacrifce lives today in exchange for a distant future goal of no private gun ownership.

If you like your guns you can keep your guns, PERIOD!

Unlimited choices = Freedom
Your ability to choose from those unlimited choices = Liberty

They will limit your choices and still say you are free with liberty. We all allow it to happen right before our eyes, with everything in life today.

It will come to the point that government will only "allow" us to have a bb gun and tell us all we still have our 2nd amendment. And a choice. The choice to have a bb gun, or not. Take it or leave it.

Every law that involves arms, place upon the people, is unconstitutional and limits our freedom and liberty and the only thing that secures our freedom and liberty.

Government at any level has no say in what we the people make, distribute, keep, or carry and that shall never be infringed or you will die by the very arms you wish to restrict.

If it is removed from your house whether voluntarily done so by fear or forcibly removed, I see no difference in the end result. It's been removed from your house.

Yup, I've called it Governmental Brandishing since the 80's with the intent to intimidate, in this instance legal gun owners.

Dear Leader was Brandishing on a Grand Scale yesterday.
