I zoned out of this conversation. Have any Conservatives pointed out which companies are going to swallow the billions in losses to research & develop a technology that has no market?

Electric cars cost 100,000 so thats out of the question or their a little tin can with a range of about 70 miles and the range is cut in half if you use the heater.

Okay so here's your Ferrari of electric cars.
https://www.teslamotors.com/models
Tesla Model S
Range: 240 to 270 miles.
Accelleration: Best model goes 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds. Worst one does it in 5.2 seconds.
Price: Starting at $69,900

Moving down from there:
Chevy Bolt
Price $30,000 after a $7,500 federal tax credit
Range: Chevy claims 200 miles.

You are quite correct that a ton of older electric car lines have terrible range and are overpriced, but they're getting better.
