Well this could still happen no matter who wins.....this is beyond scary!

I wouldn't be at all surprised by an ambition to be UN Secretary General - it's the perfect Boondoggle Job for a Narcissist that sees himself in a World Ruler sort of role. He loves the Campaign Trail and it's the only option left.
Describe President Obama......good job!

Some of my family members were claiming this in 2008.

And just think he would still have a bully pulpit to lecture us evil Americans from! He must be salivating at the chance.

Just like to point out... this was the same rumor when Bill was leaving office.

it seems there is some wacky assumption that when a democrat president leaves office he is going to step into the UN....

I think its silly. no way the rest of the world wants Americas former president.

Obama is not eligible. The Sec General cannot be appointed from one of the permanent member countries. The only way he could get the gig is if he admits his home country is Kenya.

I'm not sure if that is accurate. The UK has had a secretary-general, and I don't see anything in the rules that corroborate what you're saying.

There is bound to be at least one if not more vacancies on the SCOTUS in the next administration's term. Hillary Clinton will kick Obama "upstairs" in efforts to make that body more liberal than it is already becoming.

You make it sound like rules matter to these folks.

Obama is a psychological stranger to normal American politics, and many Americans have understood this.

If Obama wants to be UN Secretary General Obama needs to gain those “57 Muslim states” to become UN secretary general. He also needs the international left, especially European socialists.

Targeting Israel and American capitalism is the way to their hearts.
