And since then, Obama has pushed for and gotten putative economic sanctions against Russia, and has strengthened ties with Ukraine and Poland. Since Medvedev left office before the Ukraine crisis, Obama wouldn't have mentioned Ukraine when Putin regained the Presidency.
I don't think Obama thinks much of Putin, and Putin knows it.
Obama doesn't think much about anyone but himself, not the Democrats, of course not the republicans and the little people pfft. Now onto the world, he is known to demonize America all over.

Obama was caught on camera assuring outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and to tell Putin that he will have "more flexibility" after the election. Nothing about Ukraine, and doing nothing that keeps Assad in power. Everything Putin wanted.
But you are right, Obama tried, kissed ass but Putin does not respect Obama.
You do realize that the phrase 'more flexibility' could mean more flexibility to influence policy that might be good for Russia, or more flexibility to influence policy that might be BAD for Russia, don't you???
Because Obama has not kissed putin's ass...why do you think putin hates him?
