It would have been nice for them to participate since I am told they want to see an end to gun violence, but they did send a representative to be interview on Fox News by Megyn Kelly though.

"The National Rifle Association is declining to send official representatives to a nationally televised town hall on gun violence with President Obama.
The NRA's decision comes a day after President Obama presented a renewed push for further gun regulations, including executive action. CNN is moderating the town hall Thursday evening in Virginia. The NRA says it sees no reason to take part in what it calls "a public relations spectacle organized by the White House."

Why in the world would they send a rep? Did you watch that? Talk about divisive.

I don't blame them. Maybe Obama would show up to an NRA event?

Maybe if it wasn't going to be a staged scripted event.

While I don't often agree with the NRA, this time I do.
I would not go, either. Why should they or I be a "pro-" in a crowd of illogical "antis".
I do my lobbying with letters to my Senators and Representatives.
I would never go to one of obama's "Look At Me" get togethers.

What's the downside, they could voice their opinion or suggestions to end gun violence.

They have always done that, but the anti-gun people aren't interested in solutions that address the problem, and do not infringe on the 2nd Amendment.

The downside? Being a visible target to be harangued. Free points for the president, Friday morning news clips galore.

Yeah right, as if that forum would ever allow them to voice their opinion or listen in any way to suggestions from the NRA, they never have in the past why would they start now?
