This article suggests the photos are technically illegal... not that Iran cares about that. The illegality is based on the assumption that the two parties are at war... which is a gray area at best. We seem to be at war with people not classifying themselves as a country, but definitely represent that country's interests.

Iran’s Propaganda Victory in One Illegal Image
This photograph violates international law. Article 13 of the Geneva Convention (III), governing the treatment of prisoners of war, requires Iran to protect prisoners against “insults and public curiosity.” This photograph — including a female sailor apparently forced to wear a headscarf – is a quintessential example of “public curiosity” and would be interpreted as insulting throughout the Muslim world.
Of course, Iran is using it as a message of strength over the Americans. We are using this as a message of diplomacy and are almost apologetic that we inconvenienced them.

Like how Bush paid the Chinese when they kept the airmen?

The Obama administration is a continuing disgrace, sinking to new lows with each passing day. Now, the United States has THANKED Iran for humiliating us.

Whoever put this administration in power should be ashamed. Of course, those that voted for Obama have no shame, so who am I kidding?
Actually dont have a problem with this. Never hurts to hold some civility with others even if you disagree with them.

Yeah, if only they had started WWIII instead. That would make the neocons happy. Diplomacy in their view is a sign of weakness.
Exactly.

Much ado about a few hours of nothing that will probably not even be a footnote in history.

Don't try to use logic on C-D.

What did Bush do after 3,000 civilians died in 9/11? Get 5,000 more soldiers killed in Iraq. Why even start a debate in this vein??? Please stop. I've got LOTS more Republican FAIL. America's humiliation abroad cuts right across partisan lines.

I for one am not the slightest bit sorry you didn't get to see cruise missile launches. Isn't there some archive footage, so you can get a fix?
To be fair, dont act like Obamas been above and beyond sending cruise missiles and drones into places.

Bush did a lot of diplomacy as well.

And lets not even discuss the cruise missiles sent by Clinton..

I'm not aware of other nations that handed Iran something like $150 billion dollars and other concessions just to get them to do whats right, maybe I'm wrong but you can cite for me some examples..

"Death to Iran" how's that grab you. It's time to strengthen our military and destroy those that wish to kill our families along with annihilation of their operating bases.
