Yes, we do need law enforcement when things go way over and beyond rational self control.
When there are theft after theft. Stealing from another.
And when acts of unprovoked violence are still underway. Physical harm of another, especially murder in any capacity.
Other then that, do we really need the punishment for victimless crimes? No harm no foul???
Many laws are made on what could happen, what might happen and it punishes all, for those it did happen to and caused harm all in the name of government mandated prevention, instead of the less revenue producing educating the public what could happen.
Police abuse does happen. Not every encounter with law enforcement, but there are countless documentation it happens more than anyone really thought.
They do not want then recording their actions during an encounter with the public. they have tried to make it illegal to video law enforcement in the coarse of their interactions with the public. WHY? They are hire and paid as public servants. When they cannot get a law passed to make it illegal, they place their own distance requirements a free person must be away to take video(your free speech area)
It is up to us to police our law enforcement. There is no justice when government is the criminal, indicting you.
VIDEO EVERY POLICE INTERACTION YOU SEE OR WITNESS.

Had no video been taken of this, the police would have gotten away with abusing the civil rights of the residents of the city they are suppose to protect and serve.
The officers that did this to an innocent person.... to this day, are still employed by the same police force and have been caught numerous times abusing the people they encounter, as the bullies they are.
