I didn't read all the parsed and separated quotes because they make my eyes hurt. My only point was that for every one person who responds (you), there are probably 20 - 30 people who read what I post and agree with me. And based on the number of positive reps I got from my posts, I guess I was right.

Thanks for pushing me to effect some change today.

A February 2007 CBS News poll about abortion in the U.S. asked, "What is your personal feeling about abortion?", and 30% said that it should be "permitted only in cases such as rape, incest or to save the woman's life", 31% said that abortion should be "permitted in all cases", 16% that it should be "permitted, but subject to greater restrictions than it is now", 12% said that it should "only be permitted to save the woman's life", and 5% said that it should "never" be permitted.

There are many people that agree with Saganista also. I am one of them. And we give out positive rep, too

That doesn't prove anything and no chat board will change people's views on this issue, IMO.

This isn't American Idol. Neither facts nor Constitutional rights are things that are decided upon by voting.

Neither of us has effected any change today. One of us may have helped people to be better informed on this matter.

So you're saying: there are many people who, when they can't make an argument, attack someone for what they think are religious beliefs, yet they are basing that on nothing posted regarding religion? Sounds brilliant. You guys win.

BTW: I've seen posts on discussion forums affect change in the real world. It happens every day. Otherwise, why do it?

Yes, saganista, people probably are better informed, but probably not by you.

No, I am saying I don't buy your so called morality and have my own different set of morals. My "argument" is that a fetus is not a person and I would not force any woman to carry a fetus that she doesn't want. Abortion should be legal and available to any woman in the first trimester.

Nothing to "win", you have your views and I have mine and this is not a football game.

And by the way, who is being attacked? And by who? Goes both ways, doesn't it?

If it's not a competitive sport, then why do you keep coming back?

It will be medical science that will change the abortion laws, not "feel good" theories from either side. That's what I'm saying.

I didn't say you attacked, I'm saying that saganista did. Go back and re-read his/her posts (while not just looking for the parts you agree with). He repeatedly takes swipes based on suppositions of my person that he/she makes based on nothing that is said in my actual posts. That's called "flame-baiting/attacking".

Welllll - that is not "exactly" true.

For, the Congress can put forward a Constitutional Amendment, that would have to be ratified by the states - that would involve PUBLIC input - that would - oh well, you get the idea
