Then the concept and rights of civil unions needs to change rather than making it a traditional marriage, IMO.

I think I already explained it in another post and since you felt the need to call it a Teaparty/Fox News view then you aren't showing me enough respect to elaborate any more. You've already made up your mind that anything I would deem bad change would have no merit in your eyes.

Let me guess: you're a white person who only lives near, and associates with, other white people?

I think we need to take back our country from the 1% ers who have turned the whole country into a surreal version of that classic depression era board game "Monopoly"! Its gotten so bad we even have a "Billionaire" running for Commander in Chief who boasts how may Hotels (with casinos) he has built on Boardwalk !!

One would think that when "Take back our country" is stated, it's primarily for an aging demographic group left over from a time when America meant apple pie and baseball for some and lynchings, beatings, and disenfranchisement for others.

Is that what they are saying?

Take back our country is divisive.

When we take back OUR country, who's the our referring to, and whom are we taking back our country from?

Talk to me.
I wish it meant take it back from government.

Einstein once said when asked this very question (Do you believe in GOD?) said he believed in Spinoza's GOD (Barack Spinoza was a 17th Century Dutch Jewish scholar and philosopher) whose sublime beauty and mind is revealed in the Cosmos he created and in how it all works. Einstein also said GOD does not play dice and that creation was no game of chance. One can be a great scientist and believe in GOD.

Our country has been going down hill since Reagan's people said deficits don't matter and chose to tripile the national debit to fund making venerable ships like the Iowa class battleships usable to shell places like Lebanon or the Dunce pack Peacekeeper missiles or the half billion dollar a piece B1-Bs. Reagan looked the other way when Financial mavens looted Savings and Loans, destroyed our Steel Industry, when we made the last TV sets and destroyed RCA , Singer, Fairchild Aviation, McDonnell-Douglas, Polaroid and Howard- Johnsons a few other great US companies. No one's really stopped it and a few like George W Bush cheered it on!

The seeds were planted in the Reagan years which have converted about 40% of the US GDP into Financial activities that couldn't care less if the any non-financial worker benefited and actually shows little stock market tantrums when American wages or employment goes up since it might cut return on investment. These are the reason 1% of us are much richer than in 1980 their unearned income has been going through the roof. It is the reason our economy as measured by its GDP is still growing. The growth in the financial sector is large enough to mask the declines in manufacturing and other industries like retail. The other sectors that are growing are health care and national security. Unfortunately most don't create a lot of high paying jobs.

Why didn't any of this get mentioned in 1987, 1997 or 2003? Would it have been mentioned if Reagan Bush 1 and 2 or Mr Bill had had a Latino, Black or Muslim father or mother? It wasn't raised. Hence the racist crap of the Tea Party. It's really funny that two of their political favorites both had Latino fathers and one was most definitely born in Calgary Canada and didn't breath American air until he was 4 years old.

Taking their country back to the days when the good ole negros, gays and women knew their place and were much less inclined to speak up for themselves when they were being mistreated for being different from most. Nostalgia reigns supreme for many of them, because they miss the days that they could treat certain groups and talk to them any kind of way with no consequences whatsoever. Losing the culture battle is tough for many of them, in their minds they think they have it worse than groups who have been marginalized!!
Brilliant.
