Not defending Powell or Rice, but did either one of them have an unsecured server at their respective residences?
That question might be more persuasive if there was evidence that this "unsecured" server had ever been hacked, as opposed to the presumably better protected federal government servers which have in fact been hacked, multiple times.

It was definitely "unsecured" because it wasn't in a SCIF. Regardless of the email contents, that alone is subject to being classified as "negligent handling of classified information". It's in the SF 312, which she signed.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell said the FBI has contacted him about his use of personal email when he was the nation's top diplomat, as a review conducted by the State Department inspector general concluded that Powell and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice both received classified information through personal email accounts.
If the practice is truly wrong and illegal, then Condi and Colin had a responsibility to speak up and correct the situation. Now I've heard Republicans who want to take the Hillary email situation "all the way to the top". Okay, but if we are going to do that, then let's take Condi and Colin and George to task equally.
Then I'll believe that this whole matter is beyond playing politics. And BTW, how many members of Congress say things about classified briefings beyond what is acceptable?
This sounds fair to me. Now it's my understanding that Condi and Colin didn't actually encourage that confidential information be sent to their private emails. We're also not talking about many thousands of emails either. So we're likely talking about something vastly smaller and less blatant ... but you're absolutely right. They really should investigate Rice and Powell (who is now a Democrat BTW).
Fair's fair. If Rice and Powell did something wrong, then it should get its due investigation.
Of course the one really big difference: Rice and Powell are not running for POTUS. Hillary is.
Not unexpectedly, liberals on this forum willfully and intentionally overlook the fact that this revelation was put forth by Democrat Elijah Cummings....the Hillary Defender Extraordinaire.™ This is yet another one of his attempts to protect Clinton at all costs. And of course it comes at a time when Republicans are forming an oversight committee to look into State Department document retention and classification methods.
Well, they are retroactively reclassifying emails. Maybe next they can retroactively change the law so that use of personal email including a personal server is a crime, because it wasn't. And no distinction anyone wants to try to draw between Hillary, Rice and Powell changes that.
But that won't stop the complaints because this has never been about anything besides politics.
No. They are simply marking unmarked classified information becasue the Clinton team failed to do it when they disseminated and stored the information via insecure channels. Clinton and her team either did not recognize the information was classified, or did not mark it, both are clear violations of the law.
