Europeans are smarter than Americans. That's not really saying much, I know, and is more like stating the obvious, but the reasons you point out only make the case for me. Can't wait to see this film, Moore is a great filmmaker (although his best one was his first one, Roger And Me)
If Europe is so smart, why did they start two world wars?
Also, Moore's films are know to be very inaccurate.
Michael Moore is very good at exploiting for his own personal profit those led by their emotions instead of by logic, knowledge, and critical thinking skills.
I just saw Michael Moore's new film "Where To Invade Next". He mentions that we spend 60% of our budget on the military but that's where the military angle ends. Most of the film was about the life style that the Europeans have gotten used to. A life style that ended for us back in 1980.
Even though Bernie Sanders is not mentioned in the film once, the film is a two hour ad for his platform. The Italians get two weeks off from work when they get married, by law. Their lunch hours are two hours long and they go home for their meals. The Germans get three weeks at a spa at employer expense if their doctor says that they are stressed out. There was a guy from Colorado who went to live in Slovenia for their free education system. Scandinavians speak more than one language and their school day is shorter than ours. French school children have meals every day that the average New Yorker would pay $50 for.
All Europeans get at least 20 vacation days a year by law.
We are doing something wrong and y'all had better wake up.
Micheal Moore is a big fat liar.
For example, the claim that we spend 60% of our budget on the military.
We spend a lot less than that.
Just google the federal budget for the latest year.
The honest truth is that the US spends a lot on its military and foreign military bases so that many European nations do not have to via NATO alliances.
As Margaret Thatcher said - updated for today's numbers - It is absurd that the EU (with 750 Million people and a GDP of $18.5 Trillion) needs the US (with 320 Million people and a GDP of $17.3 Trillion) to protect itself from Russia (with 145 Million people and a GDP of $1.8 Trillion).
Europe can spend more on its people and less on its military, because they have big brother across the Atlantic who happily spends money to protect virtually all of Europe.
We have 26 foreign military bases in Germany alone with over 75,000 soldiers in Germany alone...it is an economic boon to have so many soldiers spending some of their money overseas, while at the same time Europe does not need a large military due to our military.
It is time we scale back our big brother status or make them pay more.
Well said.

Because Europe is smart enough not to allow Americans who think everything should be for free to move there.
They have enough free-loaders as it is.

The European countries are small and socially homogeneous, and their governments don't waste money like ours does.
We have a bunch of illiterate peasants here -- and we keep importing more.
Meanwhile, our leaders offshore our good jobs and import ever more cheap labor.
Europe doesn't do or have any of that.
Plus we pay for their defense.
So you can forget the U.S. ever being like Europe. Ain't gonna happen.

We protect other nations because that's been in our interest since the WW2. No other reason. We ain't doing it to be nice.

Michael Moore stopped being funny after "Roger and Me".
Angry liberals are just that- angry. That is why David Letterman stopped being funny as well; he went from everyday amusing events to far left politics. Was Mao or Pol Pot funny?
