So wait a gall darn pickin minute here!!!! Are you telling me that people who get sick go to a place where people who get sick get help, and sometimes not only do they not get un-sick but they die too?
Um...this is quite the revelation. Can we tweet this out or something? Maybe pinterest it?
its a cesspool of germs - every day 24-7 people come in there with their bugs - If you have a weaken immune system- you in hot water- I just had surgery-for my eye- and you have to bring all meds- including vitamins --OMG I saw so many medicine bottles--we are talking large bags of pills for one person--and all had a nice full bag - I'm 62 so no spring chicken- had one med and 3 vitamins-- people are SICK.
I touched nothing and stayed away from all -and had to be there from 2pm to 7PM- NOW mind you- if sick - cold flu etc no surgery- imagine the ILL that go to a reg hospital
"Jack Gilbert, a microbiologist at the US government's Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois, offers the unconventional view that unwanted microbes might gain a foothold in hospitals because they had too little competition from other organisms."
Ever wonder why nurses and doctors never get infected working in hospitals?

Doctors and nurses are allowed intervals of fresh air - patients, not so much.
This is not a new phenomenon. The last time I worked in a hospital was 1977 - well before HIV and MRSA - and we were well aware that hospitals are a big problem when it comes to infectious disease transmission. It's one of the big reasons why hospitals keep your stay as short as possible, and why more procedures are being done in out-patient clinics.
OP, the problem is not so much poor sanitation, although some hospitals do have more problems than others. We've been breeding resistant organisms for nearly 100 years now. We're just starting to see the results of our breeding program.
Thanks for your comment, and I agree with your second paragraph....however, I don't see the cleanliness anywhere, that people possessed years ago, except one place....The Shady Maple Restaurant in Lancaster, PA...with as huge as that buffet is, their ladies room is exceptionally clean...I mean it, it even smells clean...I have never used a public rest room anywhere that was as clean as it....not in a hospital or anywhere...
and I believe they stick to the old ways of cleaning with bleach...every single day.
Bleach is the best cleaner for killing germs...many of us, even put a capful in our dishwater, when someone in the family was sick...
Hospitals are a poorly designed system. Aside from traumatic injuries, they should not exist. The problem is that the best alternative is home care, which would basically require a nurse and physician home visit for each person, and no one wants to pay for that. Aside from the bad idea of putting all the contagious and vulnerable people together, today's hospitals tend to be horribly under-staffed and do not have required equipment (ie. Nurses did not even have personal protective equipment in the Texas hospital and one got ebola). The hospitals are trying to save money.
I agree with you, plus....they are performing major surgeries and sending people home the very next day.
But, I remember when I was little, and our doctor used to come to the house....funny, how we had one doctor way back then, and he was able to diagnose anything we had...oh, there were heart specialists, and such, but our doctor never sent us to one, he was a great doctor...and yanno how much a visit to the doctor was...? $3.00. Can you believe it? That also included a shot...
Anyway, I really believe all the cut backs will one day, suffer the consequences, as it is with hospitals....
When people care more about money then clients...something is wrong, and unfortunately that is happening all over....
