Do you think in short term US, EU and other regions will move in isolationist directions??

What say you??
Except Native Americans all other Americans are the descendants of immigrants. All the USA history and development is connected with immigration to this country. So how can it jeopardize the nation?

Trump and Cruz have similar immigration policies - this election may be a referendum on immigration if either of them (which is likely) become the GOP candidate.

There were no native Americans. All of our ancestors migrated here from somewhere else and therefore the off spring of the so-called native Americans are the descendants of immigrants also.

My position is that we should only allow in immigrants that we need and can contribute to our society. We should diversify those numbers also and stop favoring one ethnic group. We need to take into account our population growth and our ability to provide them with jobs and resources without it negatively impacting our own citizens. As for illegal immigration it is totally unacceptable.

I would like to see all of the questions asked before reaching any conclusions. I have personally seen studies that talk about illegal immigration at the beginning, and then ask questions at the end but fail to put in the word "illegal". So, until I see the exact study, as it was laid out to the respondents, we have no way of knowing if there was spin put in to that or not.

The US is already the 3rd most populated country in the world, there are enough problems to address and people to help before the US should be inviting any additional people.

The American Indians were unable to control immigration, look where that left them.

We need to learn from that.

In the current political climate, it seems quite popular for the media and others to conveniently forget the term "illegal" when talking about immigration.

Since only "legal immigrants" vote, the ploy is pretend like immigration itself is the target. The objective is to frighten legal immigrants into voting their way.

There are NO exceptions. We all descend from immigrants.

Regarding immigration, Americans are remarkably open to it. We are by far and away the largest immigrant country with 45 million foreign born, there is no place on earth thats close.

Americans dislike the illegal immigration and acceptance of Refugees. Two different rules apply. We, being who we are, the greatest country ever for immigrants, just need to revise our laws and time to get people in legally. We can do it more efficiently and effectively.
And get rid of our welfare state of acceptance. They all know we give them all kinds of great fricking benefits once they get here. The least they can do is come here legally.
But, without illegal immigration, drugs, etc etc many 3 letter agency's would go out of business..

We should have a trial period where you have to learn English, pay taxes, and leave cults like Islam. If you do all that, you can stay.
