And for the record a conversation in this manner, you should be willing to listen to the other side and as I've shown, when I proved you wrong, you did not like the answer and moved the goal post.
I gotta say, I got a ton of positive reps for my comments so obviously I was right....

If C-D provide a way to give negative reps, your positive reps would be in the very small minority.
Well obviously you do care or you would not have responded. Me? I care a lot when I hear these tragic stories of kids getting into dad's guns.
I will admit to not having your knowledge on guns, that's obvious, but I do know the difference between a cartridge and a bullet. But I really want to understand more. And I certainly understand the difference between the carnage an assault or hunting rifle can inflict vs. a .22. The ban in '94-'04 really wouldn't change my thoughts, the mass shootings weren't another Tuesday in 1994 as they seem to be today. So again I'll ask why do you feel so compelled to own an assault rifle? Why do you need such a huge round that it will "destroy a deer" and also unfortunately destroy people too?
Yes, you do know very little about weapons and/or ballistics.
Weapons design, function, bullet sectional density, ballistic coefficient, velocity, bullet design, energy. Some of us know this stuff inside and out and these "emotional" arguments make us want to puke.

Hey, he was responding to me! Lol
Bullet coefficients are cool. My favorite test is when someone ONLY says muzzle velocity (never fp down range). Since I now have a reason to post again...
We only want to ban those guns that look dangerous. Basically, I don't even argue with people that make these sorts of contentions. Nor do I listen to politicians that say such things. For anyone that knows ballistics, it's actually insulting to the person making the contentions intelligence.
The number of children killed by guns is so small it is in the "other" category in statistics. The number of mass shootings has not increased, they just get more publicity. The vast majority of gun homicides are from handguns, not the so-called "assault" rifles. ( a made-up term that no one can agree on what it means)
Again I have never asked that your guns be taken from you. I was simply arguing if guns in the home really make you safer given all the stories we all read. I also still do not understand the need for huge guns with giant magazines. They cause so much more carnage and the only argument for them so far is it appears to be fun to blow a deer into a thousand pieces.
Can you give an example of a "huge gun with giant magazines"? I'd also like to know why, unless the "gun" was going to be used as a club, the size of it would even matter. It's the projectile that leaves the barrel that does damage! With the exception of barrel length possibly affecting velocity, and of recoil, the size of the gun would have no bearing on the target, all other things being equal.
Do you even realize that the most common caliber that the AR-15 is chambered for is only a centerfire .22 caliber round? It's not even legal for deer in some states because it's not powerful enough and is relegated to varmint status - crows, woodchucks, etc.
Your arguments would still make no sense but they would sound a little more intelligent if you knew what you were talking about!
By the way, one of the best home defense weapons is a shotgun. Do you have any idea what "carnage" one of those can cause?
There is a reason swords were not used on the old battle ships. They were to long and cumbersome to use in close combat. Thus the Sabre.
Wheeling a long gun around, has it's advantages when there is distance. In your home, that is not going to be the case, unless you are holding it, when the door comes flying open.
Evil gets put down daily, but the progressive media will never report positively on an issue they are paid to be against by the rich and wealthy ruling class, who fears anything that makes the little guy as powerful as they are.
