Every candidate makes many campaign promises , that if elected, they fail to keep.

Every POTUS term ends with a trail of broken promises.

Sometimes Congress won't play ball even when the majority is aligned with POTUS by party and sometimes the POTUS does not even try.

Every 4-8 years a new crop of candidates emerge who make a new batch of endless promises.

Seems the majority of the public tends choose to believe "this time will be different".

Since formation, the US has been debt- free one year- 1837.

Every administration inherits and passes debt on.

Congress, not POTUS, controls the purse strings and lifts the debt ceiling.
