But in the parts of the country thees things are unpopular they are full on Republican.

I live in South Carolina -- they wouldn't vote Democrat if Bozo the clown () was running for office.

There were three states -- 80K votes that gave Trump the electoral college votes to win.

How are they feeling today?

Those voters -- the ones that aren't loyal to a party, who aren't passionate about any particular issue but kind of on the fence. They are the ones who count.

I know lots of people that think the whole fear tactic of 'they are going to take our guns away' is silly.

They don't think those highly emotionally charged issues are the core of any election.

The economy is doing well all considering, but the trade wars are looming over our head. The inability to ratify any kind of agreement with one of the biggest allies and the second largest trading partner is disturbing. Canada has never and isn't a demanding, self centered country. The moderate voters knows this and doesn't fall prey to claims of the victimization of the USA by Canada. LOL.

The constant chaos in The White House.
The criminal charges on those closest to Trump -- his friends, his lawyer, his campaign manager, etc.....

Those might play a little into the next election.

Also -- let's not forget that Trump is not able to work with his own party. I know Trump fans see that as a criticism of the Republican party.....but the reality is -- Trump does not have the skills to make those guys play along with him. No health care fix, no immigration fix and those were the big topics.

Jobs weren't the big topic in the election -- they really weren't. There had been six years of positive job growth.

One big difference, "the right" hasn't resorted to the threat of violence to outright violence and vandalism as the left or more correctly the far left has repeatedly done.

Until such a time as the saner people on the left publicly decry the violence, vandalism and vitriol and really distance themselves from groups such as antifaaaa everyone else will see them as the party of loons and the TDS infected.

This crap of riots and vandalism on College campuses JUST because someone is slated to speak that you don't like is NOT doing the left any favors and in fact they are hurting their cause by allowing it to happen in their name.
There easily could be leaders on the left that show up on campus in the days before these events to tamp down the vitriol and push the message that everyone has the right to speak without fear of physical violence or having mob censorship.

If you don't, well, then you're seen as agreeing with the violence that happens.

Do you know anything about how modern polling works?
Every poll I saw before the 2016 election had Hillary up by about 4.5% She won the popular vote by 2.1%, within the margin of error. Stupid electoral college system gave Trump a victory he didn't deserve.

The expected "landslide" win for Hillary is a lie and fiction from that poster you quoted, possibly reported after the election by the real fake news - Fox.

Nope, it was from Time, one of the Demonic networks and they posted 7 predictions from different polling experts all predicting a Hitlary electoral college landslide.

Election 2016: 7 Maps Predict Paths to Electoral Victory | Time

Were you guys alive and sober in the weeks and months leading up to the election?

p.s. Fox news also predicted a Hitlary landslide electoral college win and said no way possible for trump to win.

No there aren't, that's a myth There are around 270-300 federal and state gun laws.

when I hear someone claim they aren't it usually results in them telling me that people who lied on the 4473 aren't being prosecuted, but it's important to understand - those people were not allowed to take possession of the gun, so you have to do a cost benefit analysis and decide which of those people should be prosecuted. Should an elderly person who might be suffering from dementia go to prison because they wrote down the wrong place of birth or didn't realize that their arrest for auto theft 70 years ago when they were 18 was a felony? ATF does a pretty good job prosecuting people who are a potential danger to the community.

The real problem is that in 2018 22% of guns sold are transferred without a background check and that's perfectly legal.

"Predictions" and polls are entirely different.

I can only guess at the motivation, except embarrassment. Why else would you exit a poll and lie about how you voted?

It's the same thing, in a microcosm in Texas. You see Beto signs everywhere, and very few Cruz signs, but it's likely Cruz will win. But people who intend to vote for him don't brag about it to their neighbors.
A black man in Ohio was sitting in a bar talking to his friend - somebody overheard him tell his friend that he was going to vote for Donald Trump for President. The guy went outside, got a gun and shot him. A woman driving a car in Texas was rammed by a Nutter Leftist because she had a Trump bumper sticker on her car.

Does that answer your question??? You just never know when a Nutter Leftist might go into a Total Hysterical Meltdown - better to just do your voting, grin and go home.
We call it "Cold Anger" - it's quiet, but effective.

by the way ...... "people lying about how they intended to vote" had ZERO to do with the way wrong polls - polls are manipulated by weighting. They get the weighting wrong, they get the final results wrong.

Links? Preferably not to an opinion piece on Breitbart/Infowars/etc.?

Perhaps it was because Donald Trump didn't look down on them. He didn't go to them and say (as both Obama & Hillary did) "your jobs are never coming back - we will destroy your industry".

Donald Trump promised to bring back Manufacturing Jobs instead of concentrating on Service Jobs and Starbucks jobs. How can you folks continually miss that Mr Trump spent most of his life BUILDING - going to the job site, talking to his workers - his kids say they started very young picking up trash around job sites.

Manufacturing jobs growing at fastest rate in 23 years |Market Watch
Employers created 37,000 new manufacturing jobs in July, the Labor Department said Friday, the strongest gain since December and the third straight month in which factory job growth accelerated.

The July numbers may have been nudged upward a bit by vagaries in the data due to annual auto plant shutdowns, but the trend has been firm for the past year and a half. The 327,000 new jobs over the last year represent the best 12-month stretch in 23 years.

I "get" that you Professional Elites think this is some great "mystery" -- working people don't have that "nose in the air" attitude and they fully understand that the Trump family doesn't have it either.

THAT is how it happened - It's also a big part of why the Elite don't like Donald Trump, he is just not "elite" enough for them. Which suits the rest of us just fine.
