The fact is Trump seems to be less of an interventionist than Obama or Hillary. Our interventionist foreign policy is what puts American citizens at risk.
I think that's pretty hilarious. A self titled "Economist" magazine sees Trump as a threat? What do they say about the avowed socialist and communist supporter?
I understand their position. Trump's rhetoric on world trade poses a grave threat to the US status as the world's doormat on that front. China especially is well justified in fearing a Trump presidency as their economy depends on unbalanced trade, currency manipulation, and market protectionism with the US.
And the Economist wants to keep it that way. Everyone is getting richer and richer on these bad trade deals but the American worker. That's why they fear Trump, they want to keep it that way.

I suggest you read the article. Sounds like this is the first time you have heard of this magazine. That's ok.

I suggest you sit back and realize why this particular magazine, along with China and anyone else would think such things. Big business, China, Mexico and politicians are getting richer and richer while the American worker gets poorer and poorer with the free trade laws the way they are. They don't want the gravy train to stop. You support that?
Have you ever read The Economist? It is a superb magazine, it is published weekly, and there is enough information in each issue that it took me around three weeks to finish an issue, they were piling up when I subscribed. It's based out of London and gives a completely different take on world events than the trash that is published in this country (like TIME, for example, which has gotten better recently), and gives incisive analysis without any American jingoism cluttering up every page. Highly recommend it, and I believe Hillary (which I don't often do) when she says world leaders are calling her and wanting to endorse her in the face of Trump running against her.
She allegedly said 'no thanks, I got this'.
There is little correlation between competence and disinterested impartiality. Writers and editors at publications like The Economist and The New York Times are among the best, but that doesn't mean they will give yours or my interests fair consideration. A Trump presidency might well be bad for them but not for you or me.
