As for me, I voted No. Why? Because while I consider people who burn American flags to be a disgrace, I also certainly don't think that it is any of my business to tell them what they can and can't do with their own property.
Anyway, any thoughts on this?
Assuming you mean burning it in protest, because burning it is exactly the patriotic protocol for dealing a worn out flag. Burning in protest, no it shouldn't be illegal. We are a free country. We should be free to burn the flag, and feel free to dislike folks burning the flag.
America isn't easy. America is advanced citizenship. You've gotta want it bad, 'cause it's gonna put up a fight. It's gonna say, "You want free speech? Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours." You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms.
Then you can stand up and sing about the land of the free.

Can't say I am fond of it.
But after having seen it probably 27, 572 times in my life, the effect is moot.
Depends on who is doing the burning. College kids trying to make a point? That's ok with me. Islamic scum who have moved here to collect welfare and try to ruin our society? Bullet to the head.
Hmm...an impressive turnout against criminalizing flag burning. Aside from the violation of human liberty that criminalizing such an act would be, it would also desecrate what the American flag is supposed to stand for: the freedom to speak your mind.
