Can you believe that? The night before they're supposed to go to court on this issue with Apple, they're now saying they may have found a way to get into Farook's phone.
We've been saying they could do it all along. Why the change of heart now?
They said a third party gave them a way and they did not need Apple anymore. I bet Apple is dying to know what they are going to do. (and they're not telling)
Anon - the NSA probably told them they could hand over the records at any time.
Ponderosa, I never thought they really needed Apple for the one phone - it seemed they were trying to set a precedent for future phones. So this is a real head scratcher.

Last I read over 200 additional iPhones were "lined up" on that judges order.
D'uh, they have been able to do that from the beginning, I am sure. This was a show for all us stupid civilians, so we will start believing that we actually have some privacy from the NSA.
It has been long argued in some circles that the NSA always had the ability to break into the phone and this whole thing was simply a ploy on the part of the FBI to set a precedent. It has also been a long standing feud going on in the background between the FBI and the White House over the issue.
Heard an interesting interview with Richard Clarke former former National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection and Counter-terrorism where he essentially sided with Apple.
