And yet people remain. They complain about costs but won't move out of state. It's only going to get worse. Nice place to visit, but I won't live there again. I got the hell out. Best move I ever made, as I listen to my friends whine and moan about the place. Their retirements are in question as they cannot save due to the outrageous housing costs. And many people are now having to resort to multiple roommates and/or family generations in one residence just to make it affordable. No thanks! You snooze, you lose.

Then they should CHOOSE to live elsewhere rather than mooching off the taxpayers.

I guess the taxpayers aren't really interested in having any teachers, firefighters, police officers, garbage men, etc. etc.

They should pay them market based salaries or do without. Problem solved.

Ok. Fair enough, use the money that would go to the "incentives" (however much that may be as the article did not say) and use that to bump up salaries for necessary municipal services to 100-150k.

But I agree with you, there's no reason that municipal funds need to be used as a subsidy to pay for a doctor's mortgage payment. Wages need to increase organically without government intervention.

People are entitled to a nice home at the expense of their more affluent neighbor- your basic redistributionist train of thought
